Ani and I where brain storming for new cache ideas last week and came up with a concept that seems interesting, in theory. I don't know if this has been done or not, feel free to markwell, but I thought I'd put it out there for the forum crowd to ponder and comment on. Here goes. 'Parent' pyramid cache. It can be anything, doesn't matter. The description clearly indicates that the first finder place a 'child' cache sometime soon. THAT cache has to be different from the first cache in some fundamental way and carry the same rules. The second finder on the second cache will place a third cache, who's third finder earns the right / responsibility to place the forth cache. Every cache having to be unique in the series. 5th, 6th, 7th so on and so forth. (maybe each cache could role over on FTF?) In the event a finder accidentally hits the number or just doesn't wish to play, the 'child' cache would pass to the next finder. We've all seen the ammo box under a pile of sticks and the micro magnet caches. The idea here is to get cachers thinking creatively and to give them another opportunity to interact a bit. Ultimately there could be some kind of bonus cache for cachers who have found all 10 in a series. So forth and so on. Sort of a multicacher, multicache. Would you play along?

I know of atleast one person locally who a. lost his job and b. consequently lost his wife. Some folks just have that personality where that latch on to something so desperately they lose perspective. It is a sad thing to see someone hurt themselves in such a way. All things in moderation, including moderation. Forunately my better half only gets frustrated with me if I do it without her. Matter of fact she found 4 out of 4 today. It appears that I have been dropped to the rank of chauffer and pack mule.

Son, we live in a world that has caches, and those caches have to be approved by men with PCs. Whose gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinburg? Keystone has more responsibility here than you could possibly fathom. You weep for micros, and you curse the approvers. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what the approvers know. That micro's non approval, while tragic, probably saved caches. And that Keystone's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves caches. I know deep down in places you dont talk about at parties, you don't want approvers on this website, you need approvers on this website. We use words like honor, code, guideline. We use these words as the backbone of time spent approving something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the geocaching the approvers provide, then question the manner in which they provide it. I prefer you said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a GPSr, and stand to post. Either way, I don't give a d*** what you think you are entitled to!

I am proud that my enjoyment of this game has increased over the past 9 months. I am proud that other cachers enjoy my hides and that 3 of my 4 hides are unlike anything I have ever seen. I am proud to have met so many great cachers, most of them on the trail. Most of all I am proud of my family and the time we spend together caching. I am also proud that I didn't make out with old whats her face. She waited on me last night at Waffle House. The service was lousy and she had a visible infection on her serving hand. I am relieved and proud that I chose not to eat my food and went to Wendy's instead.

My GPSr has a vibrate feature. Needless to say I experience more "Arriving at destination" moments than the average cacher.

REALLY? Who's got that picture of a dead horse. Unless I missed something this thread hasn't achived anything. By my count, Duane hasn't decided anything. Nothing has changed since this thread was started. My attitude towards no one or anything has changed. No enlightenment, no ruffled feathers. I was entertained but that dwindled out like a wet candle <psssst> about page 3 1/3. Let this floundering fish die a natural death. Let's discuss something that matters, like banning micro caches.

I second my own nomination for Muddy Fudger III. Really Duane, if you don't do this your just...just plain Chicken.

Not at all true in my experience. In fact the only warning I ever got was for flamming Duane. I will admit that I went overboard and the warning was warranted. My experience is that the mods are very fair in all instances. There is no black and white, however. It is impossible and unrealistic to expect consistent application of all rules 100% of the time. Not only are the mods individuals and human, but each of them has to take matters one at a time. BTW, IF Duane chooses to change his name I suggest "Muddy Fudger III.
