  1. I would go with Pocket PC. I'm a former Palm user. I have a HP iPaq Pocket PC and it's wonderful!
  2. That's not cool! I refrain from putting gift cards in my caches based on the fact that they're unpredictable, they're only good at certain places, and every place has its own policies. So, instead I like to put cash in my caches for the FTF. Usually $5 or under, depending on the difficulty and terrain. I figure that with cash it's rather obvious what the value is, and the value can not change or become revoked due to inactivity, like gift cards can. (Just my 2 cents.)
  3. Hey! Flask! He has dropped some in my caches before. I myself do not have any sig items (yet!).
  4. I've never heard of anything like this but travel bugs seem to travel through caches via other geocachers. I'd be interested and open to new travel / network travel ideas.
  5. I'm also fond of the idea of being able to purchase tracking numbers without the actual tags for those of us who are crafty in making our own items with the tracking number on it. It would keep costs way down as for some of us, we're only looking for the number not tags.
  6. Finders keepers is what I say to this!
  7. You mean there's MORE coming? That's fantastic! Geocaching.com is the best!
  8. FTF = First To Find Some people go crazy about being the very first one to find a cache. I myself have gone slightly nuts at times, but so far I've only logged 1 FTF.
  9. That looks like the absolute hardest geocache of all time! How do I get there? Just kidding. Someday, perhaps.
  10. Completely okay in my book. If they're not going to maintain their own caches, who will? Perhaps we should all be as kind as you and help out neighboring caches every once in a while.
  11. I was thinking today... Would it be possible to buy 2 or even 5 year subscriptions for those of us who are young and very dedicated to geocaching?
  12. I just ordered one from the Groundspeak Shop. It's all official with the logo and stuff.
  13. I like PayPal but if need be, I'd be willing to pay for a year in advance using a credit card. It's no big deal, really.
  14. I think it's a pretty cool idea actually. It's funny but once you put on a reflective orange vest, people think that you're doing official business.
  15. Hey! I personally do not care for micros which is why I have only hid 2 of them. The rest are standard ammo can caches. I have one more ammo can cache in the works right now.
  16. Nope, you need the number to log it or post a note. Have you thought about getting back at this person? Why not hold an event cache at her house and invite everyone to search for lost travel bugs?
  17. Well, there is one thing that I am SURE OF here. The triangle icons with the dot in the middle are benchmarks! What kind of benchmark is the question; I believe that there is one universal symbol (triangle with dot in the middle) for just about any benchmark out there.
  18. I visit the forums every time I visit the Geocaching website, which is at least once per day. I love geocaching and everything that it stands for. In some ways it has taken over all of my other outdoor activities and made them better. Just for laughs, I'm posting a pic of myself next to my latest travel bug project which I hope to be out traveling soon.
  19. Is there any way of linking to a few of the house container types for an example? I'd really like to see one of these (that's nifty)!
  20. I'm also watching this TB!
  21. Well said, my friend. With that said, I re-thought out my plan for dropping off my large phone TB. I'm thinking that I will put it in my cache that is 1/2 mile into the woods. How I'm going to get it there I have no idea. And how the next person is going to retrieve it will be even more entertaining.
  22. They are, (at least it's my understanding) that people cover them with something to hide them with. I don't know how my newest TB will fare as it is shiny metal, but we shall see. I'm hoping that at the very least, several people will find some joy in it. http://www.tomslatin.com/geocache/PhoneTB.jpg http://www.tomslatin.com/geocache/PhoneTB2.jpg
  23. I'd love to, except that I life in New York. I promise to put a link to the tracking page once the tags show up. Hopefully everybody who is a fan of it can log it sooner or later.
  24. I like the idea actually. Kinda like having an entire set of "home" coordinates! It's great for people (like me) who travel a lot to very specific places on a regular basis. Like the idea very much!
