  1. Would you hold the same view of a cache? That is, ‘It’s YOUR cache. Do whatever you wish with it!’ No, I agree that caches should remain non-commercial in nature. But as someone else said, if you don't like the travel bug, don't pick it up.
  2. Now how is anybody going to log the earth travel bug? And it's not fair, either! I thought I had the biggest bug ever. Now what am I to do? Just kidding. I thought the building travel bug was kinda neato; a very creative idea indeed!
  3. Sounds great! I'll look into it. Perhaps I should do New York, since I've lived here all my life and have found a few here and there.
  4. I just put my email address. Again, like everyone else, not a single email yet!
  5. I have my own dot com; I studied computer science in college. If you'd like I can post the data for you and give you credit for creating it. Let me know . Thomas My Webpage
  6. As far as I'm concerned (and I'm NOT admin.), it's YOUR travel bug. Do whatever you wish with it! I've come up with some crazy travel bugs, one of which is a coffee mug with my website address written on it. Do what you wish with your TB's just as long as it doesn't negatively affect anybody else.
  7. So far I've only gotten one FTF and it was absolutely no big deal at all. I think that most people do it for bragging rights really. And to most of us, it's of no significance whatsoever.
  8. Actually it's been there for some time and people have wanted to drop of bugs. It's just a way around leaving them right next to the cache itself. Besides, it makes the micro into a cache depot since it is right in the middle of a highly populated area.
  9. Everything about the GC website is better with a premium membership! I just purchased an entire year because there is absolutely no comparison! You'll LOVE being a premium member and it will make lots of things easier and much more fun!
  10. Thank you!!! It's a 10 x 10 foot enclosed porch! My parents own the house and they're fans of geocaching, so they didn't mind allowing people to drop off their travel bugs. There's a specific spot that is clearly marked. It's got plenty of space as it is, and it's weatherproof, so I don't think that a "box" inside this 10 X 10 enclosed space is really necessary, but I have considered it. Perhaps I will place a box on the porch behind the door as well. So far (as of right now), I have three bugs waiting to be picked up... Travel Bug In A Mug Log Book 1 Public Pay Phone There's plenty of room for larger travel bugs (witinin reason!) to be placed here. Also, my folks are semi-retired so they've volunteered to help keep an eye on them and make sure they're kept safe and dry.
  11. If you look closely, it states that this is a joke. I sure hope it is!
  12. Well, actually, the log and everything are in the cache container itself. I've just provided a different area for storage of travel bugs. I guess you could see it as a multi, but to log it, all you have to find is the cache itself.
  13. It's true! Look at my travel bug! It's an old public pay phone! http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=118979
  14. I recently had a new idea for placing travel bugs in micro caches. Obviously, one can probably hide their travel bugs near a micro cache, but my idea is kind of different. I have a micro cache in a local park that forbids storage of property (the town board and mayor approve of geocaches, however). So, I've decided to have a seporate area for the travel bugs located on private property with the permission of the property owner. The location is noted boldly in the cache listing. The travel bug area is located right across the street. What do others think of such an approach? Has it been done before, and if so, how did it work out?
  15. I haven't done letterboxing yet, and I don't know if I'd really be interested in it. Perhaps maybe if there were more listed with GC.com I'd give it a try.
  16. I just started logging my past finds and adventures. I kinda like the idea of a personal TB, so I figured I'd try it out. Backpack So far, it claims 1,349 miles, but I don't know how accurate that is.
  17. Rescue557: That TB is huge, how the heck are you going to hide it in any cache... There are some large travel bugs out there! I guess that whoever finds it will have to hide it near a cache.
  18. UPDATE! The travel bug has been released! Click the link for details... http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=118979
  19. As promised, here is the long-awaited Public Pay Phone travel bug!!! http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=118979
  20. I just got an order yesterday too! I've put out my latest (and largest yet) travel bug. http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=118979
  21. The combination would be listed on the cache page. This helps keep the bugs safe.
