Until it gets back, that is.
Last week, I had to cross a busy highway to get back from a found cache to the suggested parking area. There was traffic, so I shifted from walk to jog mode. My Meridian Color somehow bounced out of my jacket pocket, right onto the highway.
A pickup truck was coming too fast for me to retrieve it (my life is worth more than any GPSr) and then the dirty SOB driving it actually swerved to try to run it over! Luckily, he missed.
But when I picked it up, there was a rainbow-colored OWIE in one corner of the screen. It's there whether the unit is off or on, so it's a screen failure.
I got a Return Authorization from Magellan, and shipped it today. So I'm finished caching for a while - sigh....
I hope they do it under warranty out of the goodness of their hearts, but they said it might be $100 if not. I'll pay, happily.
No point to this post except a cry for compassion, I guess.
OK, I've vented.
Must have been a Garmin fan *shakes his fist at the driver*

When I played in orginized sports there were rules I didnt like. However I fallowed them (most of the time) because rules are part of any sport or game.

Id do it as a big multi with each stop contain the stroy of the area your at. Doing at singles would have a down fall or 2 if a person came in from out of town they might not reize there was a series to it and miss some and as a multi you could keep building up on the last story to get people more and more scared.

sounds awsome try to make it a perminate cache I bet it would get tons of hits year around. If i was in your area I'd do as soon asi saw it. Alot of people I know love multis with some history included.

RK, it doesn't have to be considered "abandoned property" to be a legal problem. It could easily be considered litter.

Our golie shattered his hand makeing a svae he now has more mettal then bone in his hand. Then I got to play golie and brok a kids leg when he was trying to score on me. So its pretty easy to break things in soccer.

I for one screem like a girl when i see snakes but I couldnt bring my self to kill one unless i real had to. Snakes play a vital role in the ecosystem mostly in rodent control. Personaly id rather see a snake cross my path and kno it might eat a potenolay desease carrieing rodent then to kill it and have desease spread cause of a population spike of rodents.

I say do it but I also think they should be packaged in some way not as much for the adults as for kids that may be there I know when I thake my daughter cacheing shes just sticks her hands in and rumages around and theres no way to stop her from doing it shes to exsited with the find.

I'm a paramedic and have been a member of various rescue and disaster teams for the last 12 years. I'm actually leaving tomorrow morning w/ our state's response team for 2 weeks in the New Orleans area.

Im curently in school and on my camus theres only one cache and my school has a awsome conservation program suprises me theres only one cache on campus. Thats gona change very soon though but before i place one I'm gona make shure to contact the head of securety and aleart him to the fact that the'll be a amo box in the woods. I think in this case doing the same could have posably solved the prob.

I grew up in upstate ny in the country after hearing some of the stories about what the city foke shot thinking iw was a dear I usaly avoid hunting areas durnig deer season. But thats just me I think the best thing to do as a cache owner is to make shure to post on the page that its in a hunting area and let the hunter make his own choice on if he wants to go for it.

In one of my classes for school the teacher used them to mark wetland boundries and then we tested the results with arc pad and gps to test the acuracy of the units. Being a geo cacher i already knew what they would mostlikely be but it was still fun

Useing GIS programs i can get pics that have eather 3meter or 1 meter resolution si if your good at reading the pics and placeing it could be done.

my god people if your gona do a cache that has animals by it just take someone that can run slower then you and you'll be fine, Seriosly though if you give the rght warnings and rateings then no one has room to complane if they do well its there own fualt.

well if its dig with a flash it could be dirt on the lence a bad pert of the sensior and mayny other issues dealing with dig photo . But most likely dirty glass.
