  1. Yes, normally that works. I'm talking about coords which are obviously hundreds or thousands of miles from my current location. Coords only, with no additional information.
  2. If I have a set of coords, with no idea where they are, how can I find the location? Is there a web site somewhere, where the coords can be entered and the location pinpointed?

  4. You said, "...the majority of geocachers are not golfers..." And you know this to be true because...how? Is that a statistic somewhere? I'm both a cacher and a golfer, and enjoy both sports equally. Personally, I doubt if I would cache while out golfing, but I might come back later to find it...
  5. "My Cache" page is hanging up... I haven't been able to access for over an hour without a "timeout" error message. I thought this was cleared up yesterday. Is anyone else having problems? Thanks, A&F5
  6. I am not new to geocaching, but I am new to Pocket Queries. I have not found a good instruction page telling me what I need to do to download coords to either my GPSr (Garmin eTrex Legend) or my Palm. I have downloaded Mobipocket, but now what do I do? Please help! Thanks, A&F5
  7. I want to submit a locationless cache, but the submit page doesn't list locationless, only virtual, whereby you are required to enter a location and coordinates. How do I submit a locationless cache? Thanks in advance!
  8. I know most of the common abbreviations... TFTC Thanks for the cache TNLN Took nothing, left nothing What in the world does SL mean? Does anybody have a list of abbreviations for log entries? Thanks.
  9. After reading all this gibberish in all the forums this topic is posted in, I can only come to one gigantic conclusion: Prof, you're wacked. Instead of calling it a "sculpture", why not call it a "collection of about a bazillion things from other people all lined up in a couple of rows around the world that I won't live nearly long enough to see accomplished but that I want to take credit for anyway". Let's leave the "largest sculpture in the world" title for the Crazy Horse sculpture currently underway in South Dakota, ok?
  10. I'm wondering if there are any Geocaching groups in the Quad Cities area (IA or IL). I see several around Chicago, and some near Peoria, but I'd like to see one/start one in the QCA. Contact me here or at micsher@qconline.com Thanks!
  11. I've got a Garmin Legend, and with WAAS enabled or not, I've not seen any difference in GPS speed or battery usage. All I know is it cuts the error distance by about 1/2! Great if you're in a heavily wooded area...once you get a specific starting point in the woods, that is.
  12. My family is relatively new to the geocaching thing, but we absolutely love it! Are there any groups in the Quad Cities area (Illinois or Iowa) dedicated to geocaching? We would love to get involved, or help start one, if there isn't one available. Thanks! Please post responses here or email us at micsher@qconline.com
