The bottomline is why should have to go to another website when this could easily be incorporated into geocaching?

You have to go to another website to come to the forums. How is that any different?

Its the same password, the same login name. Its even the same company. The only real difference that I see is you don't get a smiley. I happen to like both sites and they each have their uses. But it really is no different than coming to the forums.

  2. Use the non-renewing option No matter what is says it will be for one year only. I will have the wording looked at on Wed.

If you want to tell if you are renewing or not you can do this:

Here are the steps to find out if your account is renewing or non renewing:

    1. Login to your paypal account at www.paypal.com

    2. Click on the History subtab

    3. Click on Details of the subscription in question

    4. Click on the number next to "In reference to:" above the Related

    Transaction section.

    5. Look at Subscription Terms:

Renewing: 30.00 U.S. Dollars for each year

Nonrenewing: 30.00 U.S. Dollars for one year

If your account is not setup to renew automatically and you would like to continue as a Premium Member you can create a new subscription using the links on this page:

Thanks for the support of the site!

  3. I'm interested in picking the brains of cache reviewers out there... a team of cachers and I recently had a difference of opinion with a reviewer on a topic, and I'd like to get the opinion of the community at large.

I'm one of five cachers in five different countries who are working on an interconnected series of multi-caches. Basically, each cache (there are five, one in each country) is comprised of five stages, and the coordinates for each stage after the first are hidden in caches from each of the different countries.

The details aren't too important - just that it's understood that in order to find the final stage of any one of the given caches, it requires the cooperation of a cacher in each of the countries.

Now - the debate that we had with two of our reviewers was whether or not each of the cachers that worked together to solve the caches should be allowed to log each of the caches (in all of the involved countries), or if they should only be allowed to log the cache in their own country.

We (the owners) were of the opinion that, since none of the caches could be solved without the participation of the entire team, everyone should be allowed to log each of the caches - they had a hand in its finding, afterall. However, our reviewers couldn't agree on this point - three of them agree with our logic, while two insist that team members only be allowed to log a find in their own country. They've refused to publish until we concede, so we're going to have to do so even though we disagree.

I was just curious to know the opinion of the community at large!

    Cheers,

Log the one you find. Log everyone you FIND. If you FIND and sign the log book you should get to log the cache on the site. If you don't sign the log book why would you want to log the find on the site. Then again I am one of the 2 reviewers that said no!

  4. Some of us try to reason with the owner to not be a prison. We can suggest. I find that a lot of times this works.

When you create a TB hotel and control the release of the bugs you are creating a prison not a hotel. The point of TBs is to travel not sit in a cache because the last finder only had one bug to travel. Please consider changing the requirements so that people are allowed to take as many Travel Bugs as they can move on.

    Thank you

  5. When a new reviewer is needed Groundspeak chooses a cacher who is active in their local caching group. Someone with good communications skill and silly enough to accept a Volunteer job where they get yelled at by their fellow cachers.

  6. Bumpity Bump Bump Bump!

We're off to a great start! Thanks everybody for you input and praise! We could have done it without all the great cachers here in CO!

Congrats on getting started. As your reviewer let me know what I can do to help!

  7. I am glad you all think Colorado would be a great place for GW5. it is a great place to live and to cache. We, C.A.C.H.E. will NOT be putting our hat in the ring for GW5. GW6 may be a different story. Currently the infrastructure in Colorado could not do justice to an event of this size. Having said that, We will be happy to have any and all of you come to our great state to cache and visit. Give us enough notice and we might be able to get you one of our truly great cachers as a guide. We have many that qualify.

  8. I've had my user-name for over 49 years.

Why would I want to change it now? :(

Why, young fella, back in the olden days we had to hand crank our GPSr's to make 'em work. And the satellites were steam powered.

You had steam??? we had to send hamsters to the satellites on kites to get them there. It was a constant project as the poor little guys didn't do that well in space. This was before the newer stronger hamster breeds
