Killing of a God
Something to do with books??
Wife killing
my poor old eyes do not like the small print in my old ref books these days and the books are fading as I don't normally use them nowadays what with Wikipedia and other online info services, but as the rules say no Googeling I presume that included Wikipedia type services.
Just found a reference to Barbicide and it seems that it is a disinfectant used in barber's shops.
So how many dhave I got now?

Just read the original post and all that seems different is that the questions seemed easier and it was a bit haphazard but as somebody pointed out on there a few times' it's only a bit of fun'

DING you got it, they are actually listed as the 'Three Bridges' and located on Windmill Lane close to the site of the old St Bernards mental institution and the old AEC factory where the Red London Transport buses were built. There is also a 'Letterbox Hybrid' cache located there GCYGR6.
So ding over to you
-
Not Hanwell but close. It is on a specific road.
-
Part two, spot on! Part one 'warm'
-
Ok so my turn so here goes.
Where in England is a unique set of bridges, called three bridges, located, the layout is bottom Railway centre Canal top Road and who designed and built them?

I must admit that we are quite lucky in as much as we are both retired (early) and can manage to spend about 7months of the year touring a region of the country in our caravan. We have just completed our first 'tour' and during that time we discovered Geocaching. We have cached in Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and now in Somerset and when we get back home we will carry on finding them there. Next year we shall visit Suffolk and Norfolk areas and possibley back to Cornwall later in the year.

If it is the cacher I think it is, since picking up your coin he has visited a travel bug hotel and one other cache that would have been big enough to take the coin.
-
If the coin in question was the L/Eye coin then the cacher who picked it up (same day)has been following your tracks as he/she appears to have visited and logged most of the same caches as you. Unless that person has dropped it off and it has been picked up since.

One more bit of good news for you iPod owners out there.
As I tend to keep a lot of cache info on my iPod it can sometimes be a pain hunting throgh them so I had an idea and emailed the supplier of the software and asked if there was a way I could direct different sets of caches to different folders.
Well he emailed me back a day later with a link to download the latest version and lo and behold I can now download to the main 'Geocaches' folder and 5 sub folders as well. Tried it out and downloaded all to the main folder and then 5 different filtered sets to the sub foldes and boy does it make life easy.
And before anybody asks again if I am on commision, the answer is no I just think that this is a good package and with the added bonus of this latest bit it's even better.
If you want to have alook the link is near he top of the thread.

There was I thinking that this new 'hobby' of mine was a really good way to see different parts of the countryside and a cracking reason for some good walks and then I read posts where it all seems to be about the numbers. So is it like the lottery where you can win big prizes or like the FA or World Cup where you can win a really big super trophy or am I missing something as I thought it was just a game to do for pleasure and leisure. If I go out and find only one cache but enjoyed a really good walk and saw places or things I had not seen before then I am happy or if I go out and manage to find 3 or more caches then I am just as happy as long as I enjoy the walk.
-
Hopefully you will find it as useful and easy to use as I have. Will be in terested to hear your views as well.

Take a look

A bit of good news for all of you that are after going paperless caching. I have just installed the latest upgrade for this nifty little programe and it now has the facility to ouput a file to the notes section of your iPod and include most of the logs. No need for any macros or anything extra.
Yes I know that GSAK does just this but I like this package.

How about a slight amendment to one of yours already listed:
Calling Card - A pointless piece of card left in a cache as proof of a visit wich usually ends up as Geo-litter.
If caches were checked regularly by the owners they could remove these calling cards and either store them or destroy them, no need to try and stop people leaving a small card as well as signing the log.
All it takes is a quick note to the owner that the box needs clearing.

It is our taxes that pay for the upkeep of the park.
<Edited by Moderator to remove inappropriate language>
This is the end quote on the Royal Parks site
<The Royal Parks is an executive agency of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)>
so basically as the Pirate King said they belong to the country and the Royal Parks Agency simply maintain and manage them for us (it is NOT their land)and paid for by US the taxpayer of this wonderful free(???) country.
I will be very interested to hear what PirateKing finds out from the Friends of Greenwich Park.
It is more than likely some jumped up jobsworth who has attained a minor position of authority and has decided to stamp his feet and be a pain to hundreds, nay thousands, of tax payers (his wages payers) God alone help us if this meglomaniac ever attained a position of real power.
-
I truly fail to understand the attitude of the Royal Parks management in their refusal to allow any geocaching within the park. What is wrong with allowing an innocent hooby that encourages people to visit a truly beautiful park that they might not otherwise visit.
Oh well I suppose it wont be long before the caches in all the Royal Parks have to be archived.

It would appear that they are more of a 'Holiday' cacher as their/ first find is shown as 28/2/04 and since then they have only found 17 caches in total. So maybe they are unsure of the correct protocol for moving Geocoins and TB's around. Just been looking at the history of all their found caches and it would seem that they picked up at least 3 Geocoins/TB's during August and at least two of them still show as in the caches.

Having done quite a lot of silly research into the naval battles of that time, thats a bit easy but I will leave it for another. No doubt someone will get it soon.
