  1. I think that summary is still apt. We don't have estimated timelines for the friend feature. It does, however, look like we are on target for a late February launch of the long-awaited Waymarking group functionality.

The Friend functionality has been implemented and I use it. One of the key new features I think is "caching with a friend" on which there are already several threads (Thread 1, Thread 2, Thread 3).

Does anyone know if it is already being implemented?

  2. A lot of people have discussed this over time, in other threads. Perhaps that's why the response is low right now. To me, and perhaps others, it seems that Groundspeak knows that cachers would like this function, and would implement this in the future if they can. That sort of thing will probably have to wait for a bigger release somewhere down the line. It would probably be a part of the friend feature, but we'll see.

    Thnx 4 the response.

Hmmmm....do you know if there is a way to 'promote' this feature (like voting or something)? Or some other way to get it higher on the feature request list?

  3. Is this the platform for feature requests/enhancements?

Because there is a feature that can be valuable for geocachers caching together (aka friends ).

If you would be able to say "today I'm caching with my geocaching friend x, so show me all the caches near y that neither of us has found yet", you can easily go looking for caches together.

At work I have several colleagues with whom I cache during lunchtime. But it's not always the same person, so now we select a cache, manually check whether the other one has already found that cache. If so, we try to find another one. When the number of caches found increases in a certain area, this gets rather time consuming. A simple query that takes friends into account can solve our problems and is a nice feature to have (at least that's what I think).
