I got chased out of my neighbors yard by a raccoon (during the day)... ..Oh wait, I was looking for a tennis ball, not a geocache... Umm, my dog freaked out on my first attempt to find a cache and dragged us around the park chasing some snake or something for about 5 minutes that's about all...

Yah, I've actually changed my name several times, then and again that was BEFORE I started actually caching, back then I was just a forum lurker. But really nothing bad will happen, you just might lose some of the respect, (if any) you've earned until people recognize it's you, then it'll be back to normal...

You have to notice that there are many younger users on this board. (Me being one of them.) It's just many people like myself never mention their age, not out of security reasons but because it never really comes up, but seriously, I think having our own area might be a cool idea...

In my opinion a forum for maybe not necessairily kids but younger people (0-18) would be awesome. I mean if you think there's not much of a user base you have to notice that quite a few members, (along with myself) are actually kids, who have never actually said they were adults, just never admitted they were kids. I don't understand why exactly we'd need to meet the Coppa guidelines, but if you think it's necessairy do whatever you need to do. I'm not asking for a separate site or even a separate page just for teens, maybe just a forum where we can congregate, we promise we won't even try to spray paint anything...

My question is, is it bad to write a short log with maybe just what you took and left in the logbook and then post the whole story at the site. Cause I mean today I logged my first find and all the time I was afraid of being stumbled upon by muggles, and I don't have very nice handwriting, so I didn't write much, but then on the actual log page here, I posted a nice story of how I spent the afternoon. I know it's not wrong, but was this stupid?

I don't know where they are on the website, but if you order the Cheaper than Dirt catalog, they have dessicant packs in like 3 packs for moderately cheap.... I think they were on the same page as ammo cans... Cheaper Than Dirt

Well, my Casey isn't trained specifically to find one, but she comes with me and is actually very well trained at just finding random stuff, she did find one for my uncle once, nothing for me though...

It really just depends on where you're putting it, in more limited access parks like state parks and stuff, ask people, but on a bike trail, it shouldn't matter that much especially if there's already alot on it...l

Well, the team and I have decided that the new signiature item, (whatever they are) will debut at the 10th find, with us dropping at least five there. And then our first hide will be literally littered with them... Also, we were wondering if anyone knew of a cheap place to get the plastic/rubbery keychain thingies made up for relatively cheap...

I was just scanning bn.com today looking for something to use my gift card on. And I came across a book about Geocaching which is slated to release around March 2004. I was just wandering if anyone knew anything about this book?

I just went to plus in my new Magellan Sportrak into my computer when I noticed that my brand new computer didn't have any port like that. Is there anyway to remedy that with some sort of an adapter? I have TONS of USB ports...

There's a cache 6 miles from my house, then another one 7 miles away, hopefully, I'll change those statistics though...

Oooh, I got an idea for the perfect night, not for the conservative type like myself though. Out to the movies, and then a nice steak, AND THEN, out to the closest cache, NAKED.... Like I said, way to radical for me... But maybe Sax might like to try...

I like the idea for steak, but I was thinking of going to the movies. I was thinking about looking for a good night cache around here that I could do maybe, or just a cache that would be fun at night. Anyway, I dunno what I'm doing I guess..

Umm, I've been lurking the forums since around September, but I didn't have money enough to buy a GPSr. Anyway, my parents got me a brand new Magellan SporTrak for christmas, and I really think the caching levels are going to spike in my area, because of me, hoping to place new caches...

I don't see that much of a problem woodsters, the geocaching is fairly self policing. If someone sees a problem with a cache, someone helps. If it needs maintained it will eventually be maintained. Sure, it might be hipocritical that TPTB enforce certain rules sometimes but not others, but it's just something you live with and notice why you're really even at these forums thinking about this, because you CACHE...

Hi, I'm Jon, I've been lurking around the boards since summer, but haven't actually gone caching myself, up until today when I got my own GPSr...

Great idea, that would be awesome if they could somehow code it into the site to do that automatically and then show it. But of course that's to much to ask. I'll definately add that to my new/first cache that I'm making in the next couple months, just gotta wait for my travel bugs to get here, and need to go out to the Army Navy store and pick out a nice ammo can... Anyway, it's a great idea...

I think it sounds like a cool idea, my idea would be to just release a whole crapload of normal caches on that day, and then just have people find as many as possible...

I guess I'm heading out to gander mountain to get a new one tommorrow. Too bad, I had programmed a couple of caches into the original one before I really noticed the problem, and I was hoping to go caching tommorrow...
