that attitude saddens me. not everyone can afford to pay for premium membership, not everyone will want to as they may not have any access to members only caches, and not all the thieves are the "freebie" members. and basically this just smacks of elitism to me.

stupid idea if ever i heard one. if they want smiley faces that badly send them a ton of smiley stickers just to keep them happy. geocaching is about the fun of the hunt not just to get the stupid smiley. still my mother always used to say little things please little minds.

the only thing ive had in my mail for a while is a serial kacher coin, and thats something i bought for myself, lol. he is a cute little coin.

my hearts desire is for coins i cannot obtain myself as i cant get to the events. i desire the 888 coins.

lol yeah its a formidable wooden pole. it fell over out of the car today as i was picking my bag up and it cracked my over the head, and then in the next instant i nearly speared my hand with the spike at the end of it. be warned mwahahaha

im here and want to help. im in the very north tip of scotland.

i am only just starting to enter the world of cache setting, and i would like to make my second cache placement a tb hotel. i will be having it very near to where i live so that i can keep an eye on it closely. my plan would be that i could just walk on down to the cache whenever there is a new log to see the new bugs or coins and probably mostly leave them for others to move on, unless i know im off out caching. would i still get the icons listed in my profile if i just note i saw them? thanks

im against the idea of paper copies. there is always some risk involved with travel bugs and coins, and in my opinion, if you cant stand the risk then maybe this part of this hobby isnt something you should be doing. i cant afford to buy many coins to keep and i live in a part of the world thats way off the beaten track and doesnt get as many coins passing through my way like many of you manage to see, and i dont do as many geocaches either due to several reasons. so when i do find a traveling coin in a cache i visit, i am very eager to hold it for a short time untill i drop it to another cache. this gives me the chance to closely examine and feel what it looks like, if i found a paper copy i guess i would be a bit annoyed and cheated and would probably ignore the coin and leave it in the cache and not log the coin find as its not the real coin. like i mentioned earlier in this post, if you dont like the risk then you shouldnt put your coins out to travel.
