Must be the season to find the lost travelers... I found a missing coin TB1KBQ7 yesterday as well... I took a trip out to GC30 Mingo (oldest active cache) to get my 800th find and came across a coin that had been missing since 07... I contacted the owner to see what she wants since she had ressurected the coin as a travel bug so we don't want two items with the same tracking number traveling around. Sure was fun to bring this one back from the dead

I have this bad tendency to run across snakes while caching. In San Diego I have stepped over a few while hiking in the brush, but the scariest moment was when I actually stepped on a rattlesnake while caching... It was early in the morning while I was hiking on table mesa near Golden Colorado. He rattled as soon as I stepped and I swear I didn't know I could jump that high. I think that because it was a cold morning he was lethargic and slow or I could have been in trouble.

Sorry to hear about your car..what is it with Geocar problems.. Mine is out of commission as well. Electrical issues.. So how do these snowballs work do you pick them up and throw them at someone else?

I actually found mine at Big Lots of all places. It is marketed as adventure tape. I can't remember the price but it was fairly inexpensive

I don't know which email service you use, but with gmail I can set up filters so that the log owner emails don't go to my inbox, but to sub category. Just a thought

I note the continued hostility to people who create coins but don't have that magic serial number on them. Its not hostility, I am just amused that you use the phrase "freedom of speech" to protest your disapproval of groundspeaks policy. Groundspeak has the ability to set their own policies regarding geocoins and serial numbers, and if you disagree that's your opinion, however not being able to sell your coins here has nothing to do with free speech. Your argument of free speech is like saying apple has to sell pcs in their stores, its not free speech its business. I am truly amazed how many people pull the free speech argument when they don't get their way..

I wondered the same thing. When I saw the pre-sale show up on C&P, it had a set that included the black nickel rose. After about three days that set wasn't there anymore, just the set of five. So I guess it was a very limited pre-sale to get the 6 coin set. I think that set sold out in a matter of hours.... I missed the 5th anniversary set with the LE coin after "thinking it over" so as soon as this one went on sale I ordered the 6 coin set. I checked back the next day and the 5 coin set was all that was left.

To forgo the being a jerk fit as some would perciev it. This is unacceptable! Tell me why I should purchase from you again if you have no way for me to activate my coins when I want to, like the arrangemnet was when I in good faith purchased the coins! Again I am trying to be patient but I had a situation I wanted to drop a coin this morning for a special cache that had been placed and I am still waiting for the dang activation code! Not acceptable! What will you be doing for your customers when and if this gets fixed? Hey cpine. I can sense your frustration, but honestly even Groundspeak has gone down a few times in the last year. Many of the other sites have also gone down during the past year at some point or another and that is the nature of technology. I am sure C&P is more frustrated than you as they have probably lost a significant amount of business during the holiday season because of this. However, he has a backup in place for activations and has posted that on this forum and on facebook... so you will be able to activate your coin.

While I'm glad it's not just me this is one time where having company is unfortunate. There was a heated exchange off the forums between me and the owner of C&P over the pre-sale practice so I thought my account was being singled out. This is one of the reasons I find pre-sales dangerous. Something happens to the vendour or the vendour site and no one knows anything until it's too late and you've been screwed. While the Compass roses have only just started shipping, apparently I would wait another day for shipping notices. However I would encourage anyone who has paid for coins from C&P in the past month and not received anything yet to at least check your account and make sure your order is on the books. If it isn't Aaron needs to be informed of it. I got my shipping notice over the weekend. Hoping they arrive soon. From Presale Purchase to Shipping Notification was 37 days.

That photo was taken by my uncle a few years ago when he took his family to Banff. He told me it was Lake Louise, but he could be mixed up I've used that photo as my wallpaper from time to time because it is a nice hi-res image of a spectacular scene. My uncle is a bit of a camera junkie -- he had a 5 megapixel camera when 2 was the norm. He now has a 21.1 megapixel monster!! I'll ask again to see if it is Lake Moraine and not Lake Louise, but the years may have muddled my old uncle's memories (he is 3 years older than me). Nope, that is for sure Valley of Ten Peaks. I've compared it to pics logged on my Earthcache and besides I recognize that tree in the foreground I'll want one of these for sure Chuck! I agree its not Lake Louise.. (my wife and I honeymooned there 14 years ago) I found this image of lake morraine online and it seems similar to the one you have
