  1. Thanks, I didn't think that was for them specifically.
  2. That's the first thing I checked (I also found that someone registered "Jeremy Irish" in 2003 and has no finds hmmmmm), but it didn't say anything about webmaster. Plus he says to contact him through contact@geocaching.com, so I figured it'd be easier, not to mention faster, to try posting here.
  3. Is there a way I can contact the webmaster of the geocaching site? I looked for an email address, but couldn't find one. Thanks.
  4. Congrats Dave, it's always great caching with you. See ya at the celebration this weekend.
  5. Does this mean I get $10 now?
  6. This one. It's a great cache, just too bad it's going to probably end up dealing a blow to Finger Lakes caching some day. That's my favorite place to cache, too.
  7. I used to care about being FTF, but during the summer last year I got about 30 FTFs, because I obviously had no classes and I worked at night. I think I was FTF on just about every new cache in my area. After that I became bored with being the first and just quit trying. I'll still grab some if they're close by or I was planning on caching anyway, but anymore I only go out of my way if it's a really hard cache. Where I am now I've even seen some of the FTF racers get disgruntled and accuse other of having "inside information" or something like that when they get beaten. That's just pathetic. I was just the FTF on two caches yesterday and the owner said he'd put the name of the FTF in the cache description so they'd feel recognized. I added this to my log: "PS: Please don't put my name in the description. I didn't do anything that warrants being recognized. " I think that says it all. My suggestion is to just get over it, because being FTF means absolutely nothing.
  8. Why? I don't think Team Snoopy is a chicken.
  9. Team Proline can't find their way out of a paper bag, they so awful at geocaching. Just kidding, they're really my parents. They'll have 300 in no time.
  10. It's still enjoyable, but not as satisfying. Kind of like having to phone a friend.
  11. After nearly 600 successful finds (and a good many DNF's) the only thing I have ever regretted not bringing with me is my camera. I do bring a Palm, too, but that's just so I don't have to print out descriptions. Oh, I do have spare batteries in my camera bag, too.
  12. Don't you mean you've had caches ruined because of reading about them in the forums. My first fake reflector took me a minute to find.
  13. Since I go between home and school (100 miles apart) quite often I got to thinking that being able to set up two sets of home coordinates would be helpful. I don't know if anyone else would think so, or if it would be easy to do, but I figured I'd throw the idea out there.
  14. I don't think Rochester HAS any cliffs. Then again I've only been up here for 3 weeks or so.
  15. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the latest Reporter (a school magazine) and saw it had an article about caching. It even refrences my friends cache, which is hidden on campus. Click here to read a scan of it. I don't understand the whole 100 foot rope being so important thing, but it's a decent read.
  16. I couldn't agree more. Getting a bunch of emails from gc.com saying people found a bunch of my caches (and I've got a good amount of them) and then finding out they all say the same this is annoying. It's like getting spam. However, they are logging the caches online, which I think is more important then giving an account of their experience. What really gets me is when the cut and paste log is "Thanks for the cache", and nothing else. To repeatedly say that is pretty sad. It makes me wonder why they even bother.
  17. Oh yeah, the tree fell because of logging in the area, and those are animal bones (the theme of the cache), not human bones. Why didn't I just add that with an edit... =\
  18. At least this is better then have the cache trashed by people!
  19. Circuit City has a large selection of GPS cables. Also check Dicks, Gander Mtn. or any other good sporting goods/outdoors store.
  20. Were the "I Found the Yellow Jeep Cache" shirts a hoax or a real potential product? I'd still love to get something like that.
  21. Was it songs, or radio clips? I've got a CD with 3 short radio programs about geocaching on it.
  22. I've never been as offended by an item in a cache as I was when I found a ketchup packet. Worst item ever.
  23. My "sig" item is a CD with all the pictures I've taken while caching. Right now I think I'm up to 600 or 700. They're all in folders labeled by location. Each location also has a text file with descriptions/info about the pictures. So far I've only released a handful of them in limited quantities by version, but the responce has been pretty good. I might send a few out, if there's any interest.
