  1. Yesterday was my first day geocaching, so I don't have "The Strangest Thing Ever", but I do have a couple good ones. I found two doggie poo bags near one I was looking for and a swarm of bees in a tree trunk next to another one.

Almost walked onto a women taking a leak in the bushes once. She ran off probably thinking I was a rapist. Found the cache shortly afterwards thankfully.

  2. The easy answer is that there are two options:

    1) Since you still have the coin in your inventory, you can post a "NOTE" on the cache page (since you already posted your "FOUND IT" log) and then drop the coin. The next finder can then retrieve it as per normal.

    OR

    2) Since they have the coin and the number now, they can "GRAB IT" from you, drop it in the cache and then retrieve it. Either way, the mileage and order will work out as long as the actions are taken in order.

Used the 'grab' system and worked fine. Thanks for the advice.

  3. Hi fellow cachers,

I have a small problem. A while back I found a cache which contained a coin. When I visited another cache I placed it in that one. When I went to log the coin's movement, I did the ctrl/click in the wrong order and the site hasn't acknowledged the move. I tried again using the edit function but it still wouldn't work. Now the problem I have is that another cacher has since found the coin and cannot log her find and I don't know of any other way to get the coin from my inventory list so that she can log her find.

Any advice on what to do would be most appreciated so we can move on with more harmonius caching.

    Regards

    Andrew

  4. This is awful. I am quite new to geocaching. I find it a bit pathetic that someone seems to be suffering professional jealousy. Have made a purchase on trademe with Andy and Kathy (delivered today) and no doubt will be purchasing in the future.

Anything I can do just sing out.

  5.

Not sure why I'm posting this or who would be interested in reading it... but here goes.

    Brief history:

nüvi 350 sold for a nüvi 360 sold for a nüvi 660, also purchased GPSmap 60CSx.

    Current status:

Purchased Colorado 400t plus City Navigator 2008.

nüvi 660 for sale, possibly keeping 60CSx for wife/kids or selling it for a Summit.

I have not yet received the Colorado, so I'm hoping I did the right thing.

    Still with me? :)

    Why?!?

    Geocaching is a blast!

*Yes, I know I only have a whopping 6 finds as of this post.*

I got all 3 nüvi's before I even knew what geocaching was. In fact I've only known about geocaching for about a month now and already can appreciate paperless caching. If it involves electronic gadgets I pick up on it pretty quick.

After thinking it over I decided the following:

    1. Geocaching is a blast!

    2. I don't need navigation nearly as much as I thought I did.

    3. I can have both in one device.

    4. I never used text to speech (found it annoying).

    5. Paperless caching = sweet.

I still can't believe I spent $500 to find tupperware in the woods, but it's a LOT cheaper than my previous hobby - customizing trucks. Besides, it's more than that - I've found a way to spend some quality time with our 5 year old daughter, and that my friends is priceless.

I'd be happy to hear your feedback/input/experiences.

    Cheers!

Nice to read your note. Am a 6 cache find now too. Absolutely love it. Am hooked for good.

My other big hobby is collecting records and haven't bought for a while as have spending money chasing tupperware.

    Makes a refreshing change.

    Cheers
