  1. I think my TB "Harry" is going on a long journey "down under" next week!!!
  2. As my husband is in the Army, I'm sure it won't be long before we're living back in Germany again. As my German isn't very good, I should think nearly EVERY cache will be a level 5 difficulty for me!!!
  3. Do you mean THIS map?
  4. Hints?!!! Being a "numbers man", you shouldn't have any problem with the final part of Skipt 'un Scramble!!!
  5. Edit: It wasn't very funny!
  6. I will happily look after Moonies Hideout - GC79C8 for the next two years whilst I am living in the Swindon area. After that time, I'm afraid someone else will need to take responsibility for it as my husband is in the army and we'll be relocating. Edit: (I notice from the last finder that it needs a new container which I am happy to do this weekend)
  7. I've been having the same problem! I tried unclicking "the descriptions below are in HTML" that and it still lumps everything together in one paragraph!!! Subsequent Edit: Typing <BR> worked though!!!
  8. Many thanks for all your replies. You have certainly given me something to work with and I will keep you updated as to any progress I may (or may not!) gain with my local NT warden.
  9. I am thinking about approaching the National Trust to ask for permission to hide a cache on land owned and managed by them. Before I do, I am wondering if anyone else has already made an approach and if so, what was the result? Please advise me if you have, as I don't want to ask them again if they have already declined.
  10. I wrote this on one of my logs... "I've just got home looking something like a drowned rat and have stripped off everything to throw it in the washing machine, so I'm sitting here naked.... oops, wrong website! "
  11. "You can keep your hat on!"
  12. Hi Cave Troll & Joan - I beat you to it by one minute!
  13. For Travel Bugs, try here - excellent service, usually next day if you order before lunchtime.
  14. Actually, the one before penultimate is the penpenultimate!
  15. Congratulations on your 300th cache. I'll be hot on your tail soon!
  16. I just emailed mine through. Not a very good month again but then, we have just moved house and have been busy.
  17. You've just got to love that man's style!!!!!!
  18. Hi Ullium Actually, I'm not in the habit of hanging around "jammy lucky boring old farts" but I'm sure he's a very nice gentleman!!! I'd challenge him to a shooting match but I'm hopeless at trying to hit moving targets! But give me a .762 and a target 1,000 yds away and we'll see who can hit nearest to the centre!
  19. Speaking of pedants... ...isn't it "grammar"?!!! (ducks judiciously)
  20. Wow! You must put some nice stuff in your caches!!!
  21. I concur with Sue & Bernie. We, too, are also constantly on the move due to hubby being in the Army and rarely stay in one place for more than a year or two. Of the two caches I have placed in N Yorks whilst I have been here, one I have archived and the other I have asked friends to look after for me once we have moved down south. We will be at our next posting for two years and so I hope to be able to place some new caches in the Oxfordshire/Wiltshire area once we are settled. There are many ways to give back to the sport/hobby besides placing new caches.
  22. I recommend the Cleveland Way in N Yorkshire too. The Cleveland Way is 109 miles long, half of which is around the edge of the North York Moors National park and half along the N Yorks coast. There are several excellent caches en route ... Burgundy Blues GC7483 (Rievaulx Abbey) The White Horse of Kilburn GC36D8 (Sutton Bank) Oh What a Beautiful Day GCD093 (Sutton Bank) Riser GC3A23 Over the Edge GC78BF Wainstones GCHFN5 Cleveland's Famous Seafarer GC3151 Cliff-top Quarry GCGG4R Steers View GC3360 Sun Trap GCJH1X Bram Stokers Whitby Cache GCHQ99 Easternmost coast-to-coast point GCG7QW Walking with the Dinosaurs GC7684 Pier end GCE533 Doin' Time GC39DA Slightly longer than 15 miles but it can be broken into sections ranging from 10 miles to 20 miles (see Cleveland Way - The Trail for more information)
  23. Seems to be working fine now. Thanks for your help. Closing this topic now.
  24. Welcome to the UK. We're about to move to Swindon which is west of Reading along the M4. I'm looking forward to caching in a cache-rich area and Berkshire certainly looks ripe for the picking!!!
  25. Is that for Ozzy?!!!
