Looks mighty familiar!
Do you think!!! I will give credit when I get it set up. Seriously, Bubba's cache was a true inspiration for me.

It's was okay, and a bit different from what the trailers indicated. Obviously it's trying to cache in on the popularity of The Da Vinci Code, substituting American history for religious iconography. And you get a nice little caper sub-plot thrown in for good measure, with two groups trying to steal the same object at the same time, using radically different methods (finesse vs. force). It's definitely a summer adventure movie, that happens to be getting released in the fall.
(And I heard Tom Hanks is set to play Robert Langdon in the film version of TdVC, directed by Ron Howard.)
I'm looking forward to seeing it. I saw the trailers, and as I am a Mason, I was a bit surprised to see the Masonic seal pop up!
A fellow Mason has already had his ring spotted and asked "do you know where the treasure is?" Well, of course we do!
And BTW -- it's not a religion.
Ummm, Joefrog, Shhhhhh!
Folks, there is no treasure, umm, nope, none at all, Joefrog was just kidding!
PS Bro. Frogman, When are you going to the repository, I'm open next Friday. I'm getting a little low.

Maybe it was a monument to someone's immortal sole!

LOL. This is among the least dangerous of my toys!
Joel, Look out, I found a site where a guy made a PVC flamethrower that uses air from a portable compressor and denatured alcohol. There is a photo of him shooting flames about 20-30 feet! How’s that for an un-PC PVC project!

All right... most of the locals don't view this thread. I haven't shown the pic until now becuase I thought SURELY some people besides the person it's dedicated to would go and find it (buncha losers!).
So, here's The Rambler Cache:
Complete with "Bionic Reattachment Tool" to open the cache. Turns out he wears a size 13, so I gave him the other shoe. He wears it all the time!
Nope, no locals here!

Santeria or Vodun perhaps. Is there a large Hatian or Cuban population nearby? Ritialistc nudism is not unheard of, the Wiccians call it "sky clad". We used to just call a wild friday night at the fraternity house! Either way, kind of weird. And people wonder why I cache w/ the two Gs, Garmin and Glock!

I don't know if you can still get one, but I have had great sucess w/ the Kelty Vortex 2 or V-2, test. It has never let me down. Here are some specs:
The Vortex 2 is a no-mess set up with excellent wind performance, and Vaulted Pole Pilot sleeves for better ventilation between tent and fly. When it's all done, enjoy night gazing through the two large Eclipse windows. Wake up to photocromatic windows as they turn blue in the morning sun.
9 mm aluminum poles with low temperature shockcord
Two large vestibules and doors
ArchEdge floor (lifts seams off the ground for dryness)
Large no-see-um mesh panels to secure essentials
Fly vent
1.9 oz. nylon taffeta walls
2.3 oz. 1800 mm PU coated nylon taffeta floor
2.3 oz. taped 1800 mm PU coated polyester flys
37.1 sq. ft. interior

May I remind everyone that there is a thread in the off-topic forum in which you are welcome to discuss the larger issues of gun ownership, Second Amendment rights, the impact of guns on society, and so forth. Posts to this thread are considered on-topic only if they relate specifically to carrying or using a gun while they are hiking/geocaching. Thank you.
OK, I'll bite, where is the off topic forum?
Only premium members are allowed in the OT forum.
You will hear no further murmurs from the proletariat. I return to my hovel now!

Rusty, cool avatar. Is that a tripod from the book "The White Mountains"? I loved that book as a kid!

Are you serious? You bring guns as protection against snakes? You bring guns when hiking?
A gun is a tool.
You might as well have said, "You use a hammer to nail wood together? You bring a hammer to a barn-raising? "
Now if someone starts cracking other people in the head with a hammer - or threatening to - that's when there is a problem.
Too late:
Police fear serial hammer killer stalks London
LONDON, Aug 21 (Reuters) - Police are investigating whether a serial hammer killer is targeting women in London after a French woman was bludgeoned to death in circumstances similar to other attacks.
Emilie Delagrange, 22, was found with a serious head injury lying near a cricket pitch in the southwest suburb of Twickenham on Thursday night. She died shortly afterwards.
The attack bore similarities to three other assaults in the neighbourhood in the past two years, all of which left female victims with severe head injuries.
A London police spokeswoman said the Delagrange investigation was being helped by officers from a team that probed the nearby murder of student Marsha McDonnell last year.
"The possibility that this was linked to other attacks is an important line of inquiry, but we are keeping an open mind," she said.
McDonnell, a 19-year-old gap-year student, was bludgeoned to death in the early hours of Feb. 4, 2003, close to her home after taking the bus back from a night out with friends.
A 17-year-old boy who was arrested last March in connection with the murder is being held in a secure mental unit, but has not been charged.
Delagrange, who had been living and working in Twickenham, was killed as she walked home, also having taken the bus back from a night out.
Police said other similar attacks have taken place on women in the area, although not all victims were killed.
A month before the McDonnell murder, a 17-year-old girl survived serious head injuries from an attack in nearby Strawberry Hill, and in April this year a 34-year-old woman was attacked on Twickenham Green, where Delagrange died.
A few weeks after McDonnell was killed, a male 18-year-old was attacked nearby but escaped unhurt. He said the weapon he was struck with was a "hammer-like" tool.
Detectives are still trying to trace Delagrange's mustard coloured handbag and mobile phone.

I use my surefire on my kids, I call it a Photophobic Compliance Device. Just kidding!

Another vote for surefire. I use the Surefire G2Z in OD green. I is a great light for general use and also has retaining rings and the switch on the endcap for use with “other pieces of equipment” if the need arises!

dadgum GOOD POST!! I had read this acticle on another forum I thought it captured the very essance of why I perfer to be a Sheepdog. Woof! BTW, I have not given up on posting the sanitized version of the Army's Individual Protective Measures (IPM), I just can't figure out how to attach a file to my posts in this forum! As it has been said, "It is foolish to hunt a tiger when there are plenty of sheep to be had." Condition Yellow, the only way to live! Stay safe y'all! Thanks again DW!

Here are a couple I have placed in creepy areas. Most folks seem to enjoy them:

While I was caching last Fri during the solar storms, it was called P.O.S. a few times.
-
Ah ha! My GPSr was totally FUBAR last Friday. I was caching w/ a buddy and our two Garmins would have different readings of about a 60' distance even though the day was clear and we had a good view of the sky and the horizions. This explains a lot.

I'm being sarcastic. The post by joefrog is a sarcastic attempt at being PC during the Christmas season. I am showing that regardless of what you do, someone will always offended if they are looking to be so. If I was looking to be offended as a Christian, I could say that I resent Christ being taken out of Christmas. No matter where you step, you will always land on somebody's toes!
