  1. Good idea. The only good reason to get it from PCnation is to save on sales tax. I was at Fry's yesterday, they had the 60csx for $460. I am not sure how places can sell many items for that much more than other places - unless of course there are impulse buyers or folks who dont do any research.
  2. Where is the best place to get a 60csx right now? Walmart.com has the best price I could find?
  3. Somehow, I missed this post when I was looking/searching for an answer: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=185066 Couldn't find a way to delete my original post.
  4. I have seen some posts where folks recommend getting the 300 and buying the topo 2008 disk instead of buying a 400t. Is there any consensus on this? It would seem the better way to go is the 300 + topo 2008, this way you can have topo 2008 for your computer as well. Some posts also indicate that the 300 has better world basemaps. Will the 300 show DEM if you install topo 2008? Has anyone done a comparison of the two models...are the processors the same? Thanks
  5. I forgot to put it in my original post, but is trail routing possible with the Colorado series of GPS?
  6. Please excuse my ignorance. I have done some reading and am still not entirely clear. Is it possible to route a hiking trail or a mountain bike trail from within the76CSX or 60CSX? When I say route it, can you "tell" the unit where you want to start and where you want to end and then it create a route that stays on a designated trail? If so, is this difficult to do? Does it take long? I would like to do this from the unit itself, not on a computer and subsequently upload it to the GPS. This might be useful if you are on an old hiking trail that is not clearly marked, in heavy fog, or on a trail which has snow and you cant clearly see. TIA
  7. I searched and couldnt find an answer to this. I have a Garmin 2610. I have had it for a few years. In those years I have upgraded 3 times to the newest City Navigator versions. When upgrading I never really thought about the version I replaced. Now I am thinking, what about putting one of the older versions on a different GPS, i.e., a handheld GPS that I am planning on purchasing. I know the Garmin only allows City Navigator to be installed once (on the newest version of CIty Navigator). The older versions could be installed twice. I used up the two installs on all my older versions (two 2610s). My question is, now that those older versions are no longer in use on my 2610s, shouldnt I be allowed to reinstall those older versions on another unit? My guess is Garmin will say no, but it doesnt seem fair. I didnt "rent" these maps/software, I bought them. For example, if you had Windows 98 on your computer, then installed a new complete version of XP, Microsoft would allow you to install Windows 98 on another computer (if you so desired, right)? What do you all think?
  8. I sent my Vista in for repair due to the vertical line and other screen issues. They sent me a refurb'd unit....pulled it from the pkging, put in batteries and same problem. I sent it back to them again and we will see what happens this time?
