  1. I need to get my pics uploaded- but I also had that problem.
  2. My favorite was in Jr High - It was the "bikers" vs the "10-speeders" (see, this was before mountain bikes We rode 20' "freestyle" bikes, believed Dave Mira, Matt Hoffman etc to be "gods" "They" rode clunky ole 10 speeds - skinny street tires, high center of gravity, etc- They could sure go faster then us, but never catch us since we could go up/down curbs, etc. There were a few scraps I can recall based solely on the bike. Stupid- even back then....
  3. Local cachers? I can send along a potatoe sack, and an 18 pack of Dew. . . . . .(j/k of course!) Document, find out who needs to know what, submit, wait and hope.
  4. Its been off~N~on since i started trying those links. I got them tho, and I'll be googled......
  5. Kinda like being "smart" - Professors who cant operate a VCR, etc- street smarts vs educated brains . . . sometimes known as common sense. Ive cached with a heavy equiptment mechanic, a service dept mgr for an autodealer, an airplane mechanic and an accountant to name a few. (all new to caching, on thier first hunt) The accountant understood the trail by error/look everywhere method of searching, wasnt too angered by bouce, directionless pointers, etc. He worked tiredlessly until we made the find. Completed all logs, rehid as well or better - left the woods and called it a good days work. Regardless of it being an hour and a half of wandering on the wrong side of a river, deep, wet snow, etc. The blue collar guys - to them, our job was to find the cache we set out for. Plan, go to the park then execute that plan. They got angry with bad reception, coords, etc. they were mad the gps'r didnt take us right to the cache, first shot. (They want thier tool to do the job its made to do, 100% of the time) Operator error was Never a possibility! And when the Garmin wanted to show them 50ftNorth. . . then 75ft south(without them moving) it just about went in the lake! Funny how people are, and how alot of us all view the same thing from our own little perch.
  6. Recently Placed Cache NEED A Jeep TB?
  7. Boy, if Iwere to judge this person by post counts- I surely couldnt fault him. [insert sarcasm here] Maybe this user went on Vacation, and missed the month or moer longer forum topics..... At least cut the guy some slack, or just dismarkwell his *** and get it over with. Amusingly, it appears many people don't realize you aren't elligible to win a jeep via the TB contest. <insert proper link here> Its all here, if you need clarification
  8. Well, i got stareted, using all the crude tools i had......... I just need some refinement, a cool Lake, woods or sky backround. Maybe a Blue Garmin in the right hand, and a Non GC.com, but similar flag off the back rack. I'd prefer the colors on the flag to match the backround more than the traditional caching colors..... I must add a HUGE thanks to all who are participating in this. I im forever grateful...... I had fun getting as far as I did, but Im sure it can be alot better when talent is applied !!!! PS- I did try to blur the namebrand/model on the atv pictured, If that is a problem.... Just as long as its red. . . . Thanks again
  9. Well, i got stareted, using all the crude tools i had.........
  10. Anybody want to give mine a shot? First of all, his head-edit didnt go so well, so if you can re-shape his head a bit-That'd be great (Binky originally has 2 ears, but I have him tatooe'd on me with just 1, like my former avatar- Bongo. I'd also like to add a (garmin legend, blue)gpsr to one of his hands - maybe an outdoorsy backround behind him? Or maybe riding a Honda Foreman ES? I'm in MN, so forests and rivers, not desert and palms Any help is greatly appreciated, as my head edit should proove my need for help! PS-I put the original, and my version Here & Here
  11. Yes, Im only joking too...... Time will tell.
  12. The WI folks have some class.... they are good people Begging? Sure "bob" Yeah, you guys sure put up a convincing argument as to why its OK that most of you mngca'ers are going to hijack the jeep bugs, keep them, etc. Coming over here to flame on me is a perfect example of the reasons I wont associate with such a bunch . . . <edit to correct #>
  13. As in Beaver Dam, WI ? Thats a long way from Grantsburg!
  14. 54853 / 54837 = NW WI.... Not sure where 53916 is........
  15. Sorry, but if a simple username cause anyone angst, they need to take a vacation IMO. I vote for: Upinyacht - just remove 1 simple letter. Of course, then there would be outcrys from everywhere- "As a yacht owner, I am extremely offended that you would use a username the depicts you pee'in on a yacht" Darn Crybabies!
  16. Its easier to change a username than it is a double standard.
  17. Actually, its Acronymian Bottom Line: Love it or Leave it . . . . (on topic)
  18. Ive been told that, in Spanish my username has a completely different meaning. "Is that what you intended?" I often hear. NO. I dont speak Spanish, and dont care what it means there. So, what does Pto really stand for/mean? Exactly. IM just glad the offended crowd didnt take Spanish 101......
  19. "Offensive" is Very objective, isnt it ? i
  20. Some people need to just lighten up, and get over it (or themselves) Its the same as with AnyThing Else: "If you dont like it, dont _____ it." If this TB name, or a username bugs you- Stop watching it, stop reading the posts, stop hunting those caches. ITs a FREE world- Its up to YOU to moderate the things in your life that you can control. The rest of the world is out of your control, and you have no control over it or anyone else.
  21. I personally would not like any more guidelines or checklists. I would like to retain the privilege to make that decision myself. Afterall, it is each hiders choice as to where to place a cache, and what kind it will be. Making a guideline to stear people back to trads would just be similar to the "make it a point in a multi" rebuttle for virts/locationless. What if I WANT a micro there? (if it fits the current guidelines, then it should be allowed) I would like to see it remain to be MY choice. That way, If I aim to please the kiddies with McToys, I'd place a larger cache. Aiming to please the adult, a micro or multi, puzzle, etc. I just feel its better to allow people a chance to make thier own decisions, and keep the Red Tape to a minimum. just my .0000 worth
