This topic has near to my heart for awhile. I commonly hike 8-10 days and don't like carrying the batteries needed to power my garmin legend while out there. I have looked at the solio as well. An option that I have seriously considered was the following: there are some rechargeable AA batteries called USBCell. They look like normal AA batteries but the positive terminal flips up to reveal a male USB plug. This can be plugged into any usb port. Combine these batteries with the solio which provides a USB charging port and you have solar powered batteries. There was some talk here about the varied power from the sun. I think Solio has solved this by actually having an internal battery. The primary use of the Solio was to charge it's battery and then use that battery to charge other things. But they have seen a large market for things like mp3 players and GPS units so they have outfitted a lot of connector tips. I have also considered upgrading to the Legend Hcx because it can be powered from a USB cable which in theory could be plugged into the solio and now you have a solar powered Garmin.

The navi is dvd based. the dvd must stay in at all times. i can input addresses (don't know about coordinates). It also has a pc card input for audio. I was looking for the possibility of transferring many cache coordinates to the navi. thanks.

Thanks for the info. I am not too new to GPS but very new to in car. Please tell more about this hack and possibly where to go to to find out more.

I just bought a 06 honda civic with navigation. has anyone heard or know if it is possible to transfer cache coordinates to the system?

Looking at my list of querries, it does not appear that I have multiple. I am receiving them all on the same day. It is exactly four for every PQ that I have. It has been doing this ever since day one. Thanks to everyone for the help.

Each pocket Query that I have set up sends me 4 separate emails containing the same gpx and palm file. Why does it do this and can I get it to stop? Thank you.

When I recieve pocket querries in my email they are in quads meaning that I get four emails of the same query. Does anyone else experience this? And if so how do I fix it? Thank you.

I would think that Groundspeak could make it an option for the person watching the cache to be seen or not.
