OK I'm an idiot or just way too new at this. What is a cache swag, what is it used for?

I just have to say, you guys are hilarious! Gave me a great laugh to end the night..er, uh...start the morning!
I think I am personally responsible for killing at least one tree with all the stuff I print out!

This is just my 2 cents worth, but I have seen many folded up pieces of paper on which the cache owner has printed spaces for the date, your name, and any comments you might have.

I am a lurker I guess
....this is my 4th post, but also only my 1st day on the forums. We have been geocaching for almost a year now, but I have never really taken the time to look through all the posts. I actually never really understood how to get around in here until I took the time tonight because I was bored silly! I have an opinion about people who spend a lot of time in these forum things, but I'll keep it to myself for now cause I don't feel like getting slammed! -
I think my Dad and my sister are the ones who got us into this "caching thing." We have infected my other sister, my husbands parents and a few friends.
Sorry to say we can't hunt as much as we would like
because that thing called "life" gets in the way, but we try to go as often as possible.I am usually the instigator of it all, but as soon as I mention it, my husband and kids are raring to go. Maybe in September when both the boys are in school, my husband and I can get out more by ourselves!

Only one so far and that is Oregon, but we are going to Pennsylvania soon and we will definately be caching there! Hope to hit New York and New Jersey too!

Thanks GPSKitty. I think you explained it just fine. And now I really do feel like an idiot!
Kind of a "DUH" moment for me!
BTW, I emailed my dad your "Everyone is born right handed" quote....he is a lefty and very proud of it!
