Thanks for the Info .I really like this unit. The 500le came with all the bells and whistles.I have a trident on the way because I turned in a 200 but had to pay the diferance to get a 400 trident.

I have a new Magallen explorist 500le.It's printed on the box that it does .But is there any other way of checking the unit?

well if you do go the ebay route i will tell you that a motorola snn5595b battery will work for the unit this is what i use and have not have any problems yet been using it for about a year now. not only that you can pick one up for around 5 to 15 dollars. where's a good place to get one?
