I even ask because some lame, local school administrators won't allow an elderly fellow (with an extensive arrowhead collection - under glass cases, no less) to show his stuff to the children in school because of their "zero tolerance for weapons" policy. I'm not kidding.
Do these same administrators allow the children to hold sharpened pencils? I'm sure they would never allow the students to wear belts or have socks on their feet. All good weapons.

I was stabbed with a pencil when I was in school. Had to go to the nurse so she could tell me that lead pencils aren't made with lead. Thought I was going to be cool and have lead poisoning, but Noooo.

Hi Meckers:
"Ice Road Truckers" is filmed no where near the Arctic Circle. The series was filmed on the ice roads that service the diamond mines north of Yellowknife. People up here use GPS all the time and they work fine.
NoBetterName:
GPS works fine in whiteout conditions.
Just thought it would be the same as being in a heavily wooded area.

I wonder how well they would work in whiteout conditions, IE, when they would need them. Still, they work for the ships on the Bering sea.

My iPod Touch, however, locates me in a Dallas, TX suburb while I'm sitting in my office in Laramie, WY. There seem to be some problems with location by wi-fi triangulation.
Welcome to Texas!

The name of a state would help a lot.
Most likely from Florida.
It's most likely not the college in Massachusetts.

About a year after Katrina devasted New Orleans, we found a fanny pack with wallet while caching in Kenner, LA. Inside the wallet were drivers license, welfare card, and other IDs. Figuring that this was probably a heist and recognizing that welfare recipient IDs were involved, we figured that the best thing to do was to try to return the pack to the owner. We went to the nearest store where we bought packaging and then to a local Post Office. Since this was a Saturday, we used the postal stamp vending machine for stamps to the ID address. Inserted the necessary $5.00 for the stamps. !!The machine spit out $10.00 worth of stamps.!! We stamped the package and deposited in out-going mail and left with $7.50 in stamps. Was this an omen?? Maybe it was in the stars?? or more probably concidence. At least we felt better.
Oh....A Federal Crime...Theft from the Post Office
Boy, you in a heap of trouble now!
Just think what would happen if a cop came by and seen you trying to stuff stamps back in a machine.
