  1. I'm a new student at CMU in Mt. Pleasant, MI. I don't know any cachers here and I'd like to find myself a partner to head out and cache with at least once or twice before the weather gets too cold. Anyone that is looking for a partner or teams looking for new members please let me know.

    Thanks,

check out deerfeild park its nice

  2. If someone reveiwed one GPS every month that Gamin puts out they would never come full circle. Theres one item taken care of. Sounds to me it could be more like a travel mag exploring all the caches of the world. and there people. Sounds like it could be interesting.

  3. i agree. most people who carry are responsible..no doubt. but i also feel that most people who carry do not have the training necessary to safely handle a weapon. i'm sorry, but the cwp course you have to take to get the permit is a pretty sorry excuse for weapons training. i'm sorry, you can't convince me that most people carrying weapons are properly trained and safe. therefore, i think they are generally a bad idea. especially when possibly caching with children....

Michigan has pretty good training requierments. And you cant show your peice it cant be visiable ever or its considered brandishment and then you done forever.

  4. My personal thoughts are that as long as there are some things in the cache for non believers it's ok. I leave military related stuff in caches but not recruitment information. I'll leave dog tags with religious themes some times or just a army sticker. If your the owner and out there doing maintenance and don't want items in your caches you can remove them. Cache in trash out! :(

cool, I agree Cache in trash out. That works for me.

  5. Chuch crap-political crap all the same crap. should be left out as a common courtesy so we are crapless..

flys low has decreed it, so the discussion is over and I guess we can close this thread! Unless anyone else wants to add to the list of crap so we can make sure that nothing is ever left in a cache that someone might not like.

I just thought this was a light hearted fun for all hobby not a soap box to spread your ideas around the unsuspecting world.

Ironically, if you had practiced what you preached, then you never would have preached it in the first place. Are you at peace with your cognitive dissonance, or do you purport to be of a superior human make and not subject to the same rules as the rest of us?

Perhaps only Flys Low has the right to spread his ideas around the "unsuspecting world?"

Ok good point. I will sit down. excuse me.

  7. Do you mean the "Send to GPS" feature??

If you are using the .LOC download then all it gives you is a .LOC file that you place on your computer. Then you can use EasyGPS to send it to your GPSr.

The "send" feature loads the basic coordinates and GC name onto your unit via the Garmin plugin.

...and I assume you meant geocahING.com :anicute:

I was just wishing there was something that I could do so I could just hit ht button and boom its done. I will get the easy GPS thing. thanks.

  8. When I go to GEOcache.com and I select download waypoints straight from there page to my Garmin 76csx my computer gives me the file download page. Do I need that easy GPS thing or am I missing a step. It just wont load them directly like it does from Garmin. any help, thanks.

  9. Jenn, I would like some have said take it with and keep the duracells in it cause TSA may want to fire it up. Ask the pilots tell them your a tech nerd. They will relate because they are too (I am a pilot and I am too). Just tell them exactly what you want to do. I did this pre 9-11 and they said heck yes and when we get to altitude we write down our groundspeed and altitude and you can check it against ours. They never delivered. I had my Garmin 76csx in my plane last week actully. have fun.

I guess I should read what I wrote before I send it huh. I sound drunk.

  11. I drive a front discharge Ready-mixed concrete truck and deliver concrete to people over a large local area.

Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's tough, and sometimes it's pretty darn neat, especially times like the picture below, where it looks like I'm stuck, but the truck backed right on out without spinning a tire. :(

As only an "Osh Kosk truck" can do! Great picture...
