  1.

People on this forum who cross share ideas and comments think they're the center of Garmin's universe. I can assure you all the forum members combined represent less than 1% of Garmin's sales, albeit a vocal 1%.

Of all the things I'd like Garmin to "fix" on the CO, the BL is not even on my list.

I've found a lot of forum posters on many different forums tend to forget this.

  2. Don't sell it, dell.com has em for $249

    [/quote

It's currently out of stock according to your post below, so dell only has a picture of them on their website for the time being. I'm including maps and microSD card as well, which I feel is more than a $50 value (I could break up the maps on 2 cards and give you entire US broken out on 2 cards if you would like, just let me know how you would like it divided.) I also offer 24 hr inspection period, if you don't like it, return it in same condition, and I'll refund your money. I don't consider it a done deal until both parties are satisfied.

Please E-MAIL me if you have any questions, or would like to purchase the unit. I can also provide phone # if you would like to discuss.

    Thanks,

    Brian

  3. I posted in the newbie section but then noticed this one. The family and I are new to geocaching and they absolutley love it. The only problem is we have a garmin nuvi 265, which is a great gps for traveling. I just feel after our first two geocaches, is quite inadequate for this. I just got out of the Navy last month so money is tight, otherwise I would just buy one at walmart or something. I would be willing to trade something or work or pay $50 or under for an adequate gps for geocaching. I am not looking for a hand out or trying to scam anyone, I can show you my DD-214 if you want. The wife said that everyone reading this will think that so I had to put the previous sentence in to appease the boss. I live in White Settlement and volunteer at the fire department if you want to hang out and geocach together. Thanks for any help. ;)

Here is one in your price range

  4. Unit is like new, and comes with everything except the box, which was thrown out.

I've updated it to latest firmware (not beta) through web updater.

I'm also including a 4 gb micro SD cards and will load any maps from Topo 2008 and/or inland lakes and streams that you would like as long as they will fit. I've got KS, IA, NE, MO topo and Lakes on the card now.

Price is $300 firm. I will pick up priority shipping in CONUS. If you would like insurance, that will be extra. I will accept money order or paypal + actual fees. CONUS sales only.

I'm going to keep this up for a few days only as I honestly keep talking myself out of selling this.

Please e-mail me with any questions or to buy.

    Thanks,

    Brian

  5. Hi All

    Thanks for the input.

I will be only using this unit for geocaching I have a Nuvi 360 for street/car and love it. I do use GSAK with pocket query and unless there is a better way want to continue using it.

    Thanks

I have a Colorado. I did have some issues with it at first, but this unit with the latest firmware is working great for me. It has always got me to the cache. I've listed it for sale, but will most likely keep it as it is working perfect for what I want to use it for. I may pick up an Oregon with some hotel loyalty reward points to try it out, but other than that, I'm happy with the Colorado. I have no experience with the DeLorme, other than playing with it in a store.

  6. Long story short, I have owned both units and it is about which one just works. I sent the Garmin Colorado 400t back for a refund and kept the Delorme PN-40. Without bashing Garmin (I own 5 other Garmin GPS units), the Colorado just had too many problems and bugs, it was useless for Geocaching. I tried updating the firmware and doing work-arounds but in the end it just did not measure up. I went back to my 60CSx until Delorme released the beta firmware for the PN-40. Once I got the PN-40 and updated to the beta firmware it has been terrific. None of the issues that afflicted the Colorado and it is seeing 6ft. EPE when I am out and about. With the paperless caching that the beta firmware offers it is the perfect geocaching/hiking GPSr for me.

Thanks. This is some very helpful information. It sounds like the PN-40 is the all purpose unit I am looking for.

I've got a colorado, and it sounds like you were using it with the compass on. Mine did the same thing until I turned the electronic compass off. The screen brightness must be a personal preference thing because I can read mine just fine in sunlight with no back light. That being said, I'm currently trying to sell my CO to by a PN-40 as I would really like to try out the satellite imagery.

  7. Unit is like new, only used on a few caches. Includes box, papers and all accessories. I will sell for $350 or I would also like to work out a trade for a DeLorme PN-40, which is what I would buy if this sells. Please e-mail me with any questoins. Paypal is gladly accepted, and I will eat all fees, as well as pay for priority shipping with delivery confirmation to anywhere in the CONUS, though insurance is the responsibility of the buyer. This unit has all the latest firmware installed. It was a replacement unit that Garmin had sent me and instead of a refurb, they sent me a brand new one in box, which means you get 2 carabiner clips. When I got it, I only took the unit out, and did not open any paperwork or other accessories, so it's all still sealed. Please e-mail me with any questons or to buy.

  8. I've searched, and can't find an answer. Can one use the send to GPS feature like on the Colorado or Oregon utilizing the Garmin communicator to send a cache to the gps, or does it have to manually be entered? I've got one for sale, and was asked this questions, and since it's my back up, and I don't have a serial port, I've never attempted it.

    Thanks!

  9. Hi, Do you still have this unit? Does it come with the cable to hook up to a pc? Also which Etrex Legend is this (model number, letters after the name etc...)

    Thanks

    Lassen :)

Sorry, I neglected to mention that it does come with a cable to hook up to a PC. It also includes box, manuals, and wrist strap.

To avoid any confusion as to which model this is, here is the link to it on Garmin.

  13. Since BBH, the OP, has never posted a thank you or follow-on question, one has to wonder if this thread hasn't taken on a life of its own?

Note: The OP is from the home of a famous GPS company.

I'm here, just reading all of the replies. I do sincerely appreciate all of the replies. Just so everyone knows, I have no affiliation with Garmin, I just happen to live down the street from them. This thread has taken on a life of it's own in my opinion, which is good. There is a lot of good information here. I have been happy with my Colorado, and based on the fact that there are no PN-40's to touch and feel here yet, only PN-20's, I may just stay with the Colorado, or upgrade to the Oregon. I also use a Garmin Nuvi 780 for vehicle use and t almost always gets me where I'm going . I travel throughout Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Iowa on a daily basis, and my Nuvi is an absolute necessity. I always have my Colorado, in case I get stranded, or want to search for a Cache I've loaded in the area.

    Thanks for the replies.
