That was our answer too!

I have to agree with you SA. Let's keep them short 'n' sweet.
-
That's certainly a possibility!
Come back - we forgive you
-
Haven't got a clue - but then, that's not unusual!
-
Could it be Claude?

C UI Jimmy?!!!
Or Charles

I seem to recall a story that sometime in it's history the building suffered a fire, I don't recall the incident., but the paint was used to cover up it's blackened facade.
DING That's the answer I was looking for even though it may just be a legend, British troops burned the mansion in 1814 when they captured the city and allegedly it was painted white when it was rebuilt to cover the smoke stains
Over to you
-
Don't know about the damp. That's not the reason I'm looking for.
-
Nope to the reason but yes to the original colour - it was Virginian sandstone, grey in colour. So NO ding - sorry!
-
Sooo, sort of in keeping with the main news topic this week, Why is the White house white and what colour was it originally?
-
At least my money wasn't wasted!!
Ok an easy one this time
What do Busy, Jane, Rose, Coates, Ocean, Prudence, Ramoth, Vlow, Kitty & Luna have in common?
Should be simple for some.
Mines?

Could it be an armadillo?

We enjoy reading thre cache page, reading a good few logs, checking on google earth etc, and then, going out and finding the cache! Logs and cache pages add to the enjoyment for us
-
We must be pretty basic - all we have in our bag is; swaps, spare batteries, tissues, latex gloves(just in case) pen and a notebook which comes in handy if the log is full. And of course the trusty Garmin. (

We had a good laugh once while we were walking across a field that had nettles near the path. We passed a Japanese gentleman who had just got stung and he rushed up to me in a blind panic asking if the plants were poisonous. Of course we couldn't let an opportunity like that go by, so we told him that he had half an hour to get to hospital, or he would die. The look on his face gave us the best laugh we had had in ages!
That is so mean. LOL
-
Congratulations from us two too! May it be a long and happy one. J & A

Clearing a cache of swaps and TB's seems a bit unfair on other cachers. We're fairly new to the game but always try to trade up or even and often just leave something to help fill the cache especially if all it contains is 'plastic tat'. Found a useless car park ticket in one today!

Just pootling round as you do and all I can say is Thanks for some fab photo's
-
none of my 'mates' are virgins! lol

Could it have been Queen with Bohemian Rhapsody?
-
Happy New Year to all. Hope all the hangovers are now gone! Ours have (just!)
-
My point is this.....We have seen some, for lack of a better term, TRASH in caches. We just find it dissappointing that someone that enjoys the same hobby as us would leave this "stuff"!!!
We couldn't agree more! we are pretty new to geocaching but boy have we seen some 'stuff' ie; an empty acorn cup, stones - obviously picked up from the cache site, a used contact lens case (who would want to use that?) a fuse, used headlamp bulb and so it goes on. We like to buy charity badges as swaps as it's twofold - the charity benefits too and do try to swap like for like. What a shame that some are quite happy to leave trash. Better to leave nothing at all methinks.

Not sure what the definition is but I think these are the animals you have to report if you knock 'em over with your car!
What about the poor cats!
