    It should be the cache / event owners decision how they want to monitor multiple logs base on waypoints or "temp" event caches. Just like virtuals you must follow the owners requirements for logging to get one or more smiley's.

    The more I think about the multiple-claim-temp cache cachers, the more I think the #s are important to them. Otherwise, why bother logging in all those finds?

     

    I believe it was for the benefit of the cacher who placed the temp caches. I guess a note wouldn't have the same effect. Yeah, that's it.

    Happy Anniversary Everyone!!

     

    On May 3rd, 2000 a container of goodies was hidden by a someone outside of Portland, Oregon - in celebration of the removing of Selective Availability. By May 6th the cache was visited twice, and logged in the logbook once...

     

    Here's to the pioneers of Geocaching (again!)

     

    Anyone know who was San Diego's first Geocacher?

    East Highland Geocachers

    At first almost no GeoCaches were hid in Highland, now, there are over 1,000. THis game is getting big here. While searching for a Geocache (Doggone it!) I was asked by some kids, "Are you geocaching?". I guess this game isn't as secret as it used to be. Which means we need to be more stealthy. Any way, East Highlands holds thousands of great Geocaches, and is a great place to go. Discuss it here.

    Geez, I ignore this thread for a few days and look what happens. I work with Snapping Turtle at the zoo, he's a good friend I've known since before geocaching. I actually converted him to the darkside. Anyhoo, it's no big deal. I'll let Richard know if he wants to "adopt" the cache back. I doubt he'll care though. I thought it was funny having a sleeper cache!

    Do not give the "other coast" people any help on TT's puzzles....Jeff has used some of his puzzles out there and they are trying to back door him. I have received e-mail from a few of them.

    Sorry to hear about all the pain John is in. It sounds like you might want to keep him on urban micros for awhile.

    MTRP War...Allied NAVY launches a secret weapon.

     

    Supply lines are running thin...more containers needed!

     

    The dreaded Gen. cegrube Marx is showing no signs of backing down.

    She disabled all of her caches for some reason. GB! didn't know this at the time he placed it in the cache.

    More than half the coins have been logged into caches. There are now clues to the rest of the coins locations.

    We lucked out and found Jack Ryan quite by chance...err, I mean were really good at this! <_<

    Apparently Duncan!, Gobolts! and Tigger's Mango know how it works! I'm speculating the coins are in caches but not logged into them and have to be found?

    Hey gang, this is the congratulations thread, not the make fun of your elders thread. :P

     

    If y'all weren't so busy picking on us middle aged farts, someone might have noticed that I hit 600 last Friday.

     

    I waited all week, and when I passed 650 I knew I was unnoticed. :)

     

    Congratulations to Trovamo for hitting 600 this week.

     

    And a BIG WOOHOOOO!!! to Snake&Rooster for hitting 1K...well, they will tomorrow at least.

    Hey C4 it's nice to know that you're right hobbling along with us! But John's ahead of us! He's gone up and over the hill! :)

    A group of us from San Diego attended the Ladder Canyon "Lunchmeet" this weekend. It was very fun! They had a poker run but we went and hiked through the cool ladder canyon instead. Anyhow, to make a long story short 7 of the cachers logged each of the stages for the poker run as a find. So basically they all attended the event 8 times! MightyDee and I both posted notes to let them know that they are basically pumping up their numbers by logging caches that were not approved. What do you guys think?

     

    I agree with RM's sentiments BUT, here's the thing - if GC.com didn't want anyone logging a cache more than once, they easily could have programmed the site to prevent it. It's not something I'd do though. I'd probably archive my own cache and create a new one in the same place so others can come back and log it again if that's what I wanted them to do. :D

    Edit: Wheeler Dealers just deleted my and MightyDee's notes on the event page. I guess they didn't like our comments about them logging unapproved caches to pump up their numbers...... :D

     

    At the next pizza event I'm gonna log each slice I eat as a find! :):tired::tired: Yum!

    Just saw the NEW Ruby of Dave's. Can't believe he's leaving it outside in the SNOW! Also, what's with the HARDTOP? Don't ya know they're SUPPOSE to be ragtops?!

    LOVE it, I'm MAJOR jealous!

     

    Driving down the freeway at 70 mph with a rag-top? Need I say more. :)
