  1. Hello Cachers,

I have been caching now for just over 2 months. I'll carry my GPS, PDA, cellphone, something to trade and a pen. Come summer I can see myself carrying additional things such as water and what ever. How do people carry all their stuff? Backpack, fannypack or just pockets. I have even thought about a hunting vest. How about your opinion on this? Thanks, Al

I have a bag that was a tool bag it is not too big just perfect.

  2. the reason some people don't like micros is because some people just place micros in some parking lot to have another hide which i don't agree with but micros really aren't that bad I have been to several caches where they were micros in nice parks micros should also be a last resort kinda of thing.

  3. 1. You have no idea of the quality of the micro in question, yet you blast it.

    2. You snoozed...you lose.

    3. You have no idea of the quality of the micro in question, yet you blast it.

    4. You hint that if someone's cache is stolen...it's somehow a good thing.

    5. You have no idea of the quality of the micro in question, yet you blast it.

It seems that the cacher seems to know the quality of the cache cause he knows exactly where it is I would ask an approver to look at it he will probaly let you be exempt there are certain circumstances where the approver may break the rules other wise they would have computers check it.

  4. I've recruited two from prison.<BR>One's got over a hundred finds now.<BR>The other has A.D.D. and only made it to two caches.<BR><BR><IMG SRC="http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/39197_2700.jpg"> <BR>I am the result of genetic manipulation of superior Geocacher DNA. Faster, stronger with superior reasoning and logic.<BR><A HREF="http://www.sigmaxi.org/amsci/articles/95articles/Hunt-full.html" TARGET=_blank>Mokita!</A><BR>

that is just weird I haven't actually recruited anybidy even though I have tried to :blink:

  5. One local cacher experienced the same thing. Turns out, the someone couldn't find the original cache and decided to provide a replacement cache.

I have heard of this happening sveral times people can't find the cache put a new one up and count it as a find

  6. That's a pretty good sized ammo box (I've seen a few that are a little bigger). I recommend putting the cache way out in the sticks and fill it with goodies (CDs, books, casette tapes, 8 tracks, small stuff animals, etc.)

    Make it a multi/puzzle cache.

A container like that is too good for a ordinary traditional urban cache.

Make it a REALLY good cache.

have you ever thought about the fact that he may not have that much money not trying to be mean I'm just saying I wouldn't make anything that rich but then that is me

  7. I have an idea I'll take a 55 gallon metal can put in the middle of a busy park people will think it is a trash can :D seriously I wonder if that would work :D

you would have to find some way to keep people from throwing trash in it  geocachers looking for a littl micro would get very confused just don't post the size of the cache.

  8. I just wanted to say that I think Geocaching is a great way to teach stuff in boy scouts also I wanted to know who out there is a boy scout was a boy scout or a leader I just want to know whether a lot of geocachers are boy scouts (or a leader or something)

Just tell a little about yourself (ie. troop, rank, leadership rank ect.)

I myself am a star scout working on life scout and in a year in a half hopefully an eagle scout ( I'm trying to get it before my 15th birthday) I am also a patrol leader.

    Thank you :ninja:

  9. check out GCHRHF it is a good cache that is in his back yard. He provides his house number I would give the house number and not the street so as to keep people from looking in your neighbor nextdoor who has a 12 gauge shotgun :ninja: and to give the cache a sense of mystery still.

  10. I own a cache that has had a bug sitting for quite a while. I've been to the cache as has others and there is no sugn of the bug. It seems that I don't have the ability to kill the bug. I contacted the TB owner, and it seems they don't have the tag number any more and cannot even move it themselves. I got this message from them

"I'm sorry, I've been trying but it doesn't let me post that his whereabouts is unknown, and I can't pick him up myself because I don't know the tag number (my extras got lost during a camping trip). If you know how to pick him up without a number or how to change his location, let me know. otherwise I'm going to contact gc.com and see if they know how."

Any ideas how to get the bug removed so others do not try to visit the cache only to try to pick up a phantom bug? I've selected the 'report a bug missing', but not sure if that just triggers and email to the owner or if a certain number of requests are needed for anything to happen.

You can put it in a travel bug cemetary

  11. I’ve thought about two types of entries:

    1) with entry fee – eligible for prizes

    2) non-entry fee – “certificates only” for finishing.

    CBR2005

    So racers,

    which type do you prefer,

    I’m listening!

    CBR2005

    I want type two ;)

  12. I was on a geocaching event cache with grapu etal the object was to find as many quick caches as possible well we went for one kinda out of the way met up with a group whos batteries died. well the morale of the story is always mark where you parked. We ended up coming to the prize thingy late and won a prize for the most interesting story. good ending ;):P:D
