  1. For that matter, the Professor was always building pedal-powered bamboo cars, concocting antidotes for radioactive clam ch***er, and the like. Rather than wasting years in sorry attempts to mimic the claptrap of civilization, why did he not spend a day or two tearing apart the engine of the Minnow and building a simple spark-gap transmitter to send an SOS? They could have been off that rock by the second episode if he'd shown some common sense as well as sheer genius. For that matter, didn't the Minnow have a radio? ON TOPIC: Is there an FRS privacy code for geocachers in the Northeast? If not, then I nominate INT(ATAN(10.0E100)). ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  2. That's not fair, Mr. Keystone Approver. After all, the c****er might be Manhattan. quote:"Mmm, mmm, good!Mmm, mmm, good! 3. Crim, don't do that to insomniacs! I say "After you, sir!" and offer to buy a cup of coffee. That puts Gallant in a trusting mood so that it's very easy to palm the chloral hydrate as I drop it into his decaf latte, return to the cache, and rip out his log page. (Don't forget to take his wallet and leave a dirty golf ball.) ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.

  5. Congrats, Ibrew! I'll hoist a beaker of this mixed drink, made with this lager. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.

When we did Melvin's, at dead low tide, I wore boots that went right up to my crotch, and at one point the water poured in over the top. (Stop laughing, Nik!) How tall are you, Mopar? ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  7. Welcome, Bldebabe! The weather looks like a go. According to the tide tables, conditions should be as good as we can hope for (-0.8 foot low tide.) I have that stuff and a 1:15,000 topo map as well. Will send you some notes later. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost. 8. Schnakes and frogs in the news http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/Midwest/10/23/offbeat.closed.road.ap/index.html Must be a major problem in Wolf Lake, IL! ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.

  10. Thx, Ibrew. I saw that but couldn't tell whether it was a schnake or a floating beer bottle. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  11. Hi, all, I have the Mapsource topo maps, but these don't seem to offer the detail I need. I would like to get a highly detailed (1:15,000) topo map for a very small area and download it to my GPSMAP 76S. Is there any way to do this? ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.

  13. Same reason we spend hundreds of dollars to find hundreds of cents worth of swag. (It's the principle of the thing.) BTW, Wyle E. was certainly a loyal customer. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  14. Victorinox Hiker. It's more pocket-friendly (smaller and lighter) than Leatherman-type tools. I've had my current one for about 13 years now. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  15. Yup. I'm reserving them for "special" caches (high difficulty.) ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.

  17. Also avoid rectangular Rubbermaid containers. I've found more soggy caches in this kind than any other kind. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  18. Mapping is good for getting to the trailhead. A magnetic compass is good for finding the cache. A good big screen is good if you want to use the GPSr in a dashboard mount. I went with a GPSMAP 76S. No regrets. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  19. Hi, all, I bought some geocoins from www.geocachetreasure.com, because I like their designs better than those from US Geocoins. Since they're not made under license to Groundspeak, I gather that they're not trackable on this site. Is that correct? If so, is there any site where they are trackable? Thanks, - Team Og. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.

  24. Bump... Planet's dropped out because she thinks earning a living is more important than cache hunting. So here's your opportunity to get in on the, er, ground floor... ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
  25. Nope -- just combing the records looking for clues about how to navigate tidal flats. Then it struck me -- it's duck season. Marty assured me that the afternoon is not prime duck-hunting time, tho. ____________________________ - Team Og Rof A Klaw All who wander are not lost.
