    Hi Pooks, Noddy and D'Bob
  5. Anyone up to a walk this pm (my afternoon off). Maybe place a cache at the caves shown at the top of this thread.
  6. D'Bob You seem to have skirted questions about placing one of the reindeer in Richmond Park. Is it just chance that YOURS was the nearest cache? Did you help C.U.M.?
  7. Maybe I'll try approaching the NPS. It is after all a Wonder of the world.
  8. To the moderators: Why not pin a thread on advice regarding GPSr as it seems to be such a common question?
  9. Caches on the edge? With a view in?
  10. Thanks Guys Some help is coming in already!
  11. Black Friday - $97 at Wal-Mart?? Not the most suitable Geocaching unit out there but it will work. When you are addicted and ready for a handheld - let us know...... Hey! I just started not long ago, I'm addicted, and I'm letting you know that I'm ready for a handheld! Someone mentioned getting the Garmin Oregon for paperless. I would loooooove paperless. But I also don't have a billion dollars. What's your take? And thanks! I have done all my caching so far with a Nuvi. They work just fine and are very accurate. If you get "road locked" near a cache, simply turn the unit off and on. When navigating to a cache, if driving, use the "Go" button. If walking rather use the "Show map" button. Check out this link for FREE awesome paperless caching with a Nuvi. All the info you need about a cache on the Nuvi!
  12. How far are we to take this? Just about any cache not on your own property is on someone else's property. I just think of all the caches in the TMNP. Do all of them need permission? I wanted to place a night cache in the TMNP forests. The forests officially close at 6pm. I wrote to the head office and after detailed email on the environmental awareness of cachers, educational benefits etc, a permit for night caching was declined. I left it at that, but that does not bode well for TMNP caches.
  13. Judging from your caches, if you host it, they will come. (They may miss it though if it was in plain view.)
  14. I left a lottery ticket in there. Expires in just over 2 months....just imagine if.....
  15. Bob, I think that this cache truly has a variable difficulty rating. Leave it at that.

Fish Eagle, GS&Dogs, Noddy. Morning all!
  17. Does anyone know which cache has had/has the most DNFs in a row with the cache in situ? This one has eleven, including some esteemed reviewers.
  18. I can help... I live in Barra (~Baha) - South Rio - and would love to help you. There are several caches 'close' but there is a place near the Chinese Overlook that catches the bay area, and you can see the Redeemer in the distance. If you get too close to the redeemer, than its hard to find a place to stash a cache... though a micro could be possible. The view from the Redeemer has the best view - of course it is SO ICONIC that, it is a muggle nightmare. Let me know what you're looking for, and I'll help you out. Take care! Savoy Thanks for the offer! At the moment I am slowly looking into the feasibility of such a cache. So far it looks possible to get a cache at the Great Pyramids, Great barrier reef, and now at Redeemer. If I can get another 4, I will contact you to tell you what I would like. Thanks so much for the help!! CapeDoc
  19. Less than 30 finds on all than caches in Mozambique!
  20. Have you had a look at caches in Zim? Only 15 caches in the whole country, more that have never been found, than found, oldest unfound April 04. Says something!
  21. Hi All I was thinking of doing a series of caches that involves taking you to Seven Wonders of the world. As I am from South Africa, I was hoping to find someone to help me place and maintain a cache in Rio as part of the series. The best place would be with a view of the harbour, and the Christ the Redeemer statue. Would anybody be up to helping me? Please feel free to post here and I you are really serious, send me a PM so that I can get your email address. Looking forward to hearing from you! CapeDoc
