  1. Ooops, dadgum, guilty by admission!
  2. Get as much sensible caching in before you come along to the meeting chaps as when you start on my frustration cache..... you may need a torch and possibly a sleeping bag!! The multi will certainly be hound friendly..... providing it can swim (joking - honest! Stop hitting me with that fish!) Now I better get out this weekend and set it all up otherwise I'm gonna look a right chump on the event with no working cache! My good friends in the Asda Wigan photo dept (who?) gave me the bin full of 35mm micros. I've checked and bagged them (aren't I gooood) and they'll be free hand outs to anyone who wants them, while stocks last! Oh, by the way I've been out over the last few nights trawling for P&T/CT&Js new cache and having found logged it there's no point anyone rushing in for the FTF on the day. .....Trouble is some people just take me tooooo seriously!
  3. If you want my opinion on this topic just check out my exploits on Interception!
  4. Just added the Garmin iQue 3600 to my inventory of GPS gizmoes! The integeral GPS/antenna is the biz. Still getting to grips with using it. Works brilliant in the car and it talks to me! Set a route for it the other day then did a few laps round a roundabout: "off route, recalculating!" "off route, recalculating!" "off route, recalculating!" "off route, recalculating!" "off route, recalculating!" Aren't I cruel! Well they shouldn't have given it a lady's voice!!
  5. See "December Holiday Caching". Great idea on there for replenishing your swaps!
  6. Good advice Kitty Hawk and yes Avebury would make a nice cycle unless you want the trig as well! T, I find Halfords Bikehut quite reasonable. However, they can be quite a let down when you go accessory hunting as they have a tendency to allow things to go out of stock. Such was the case when I wanted a spare set of quick release wheels so I could set myself up with a set of trail tyres and the other set with xcountry tyres. Ended up buying the wheels from a small high street bike shop in Leigh from stock! One point to consider though when you do decide to go caching by bike. If you get the urge to be adventurous just remember the value of your GPS especially if it's mounted on the handlebar. My lads will gladly relate to the day we went MTBing in the New Forest when I miss queued a high speed ditch jump and piled into the far bank for a total wipe out! Destroyed just about everything on the front of the bike. But, the GPS came away unscathed! I was lucky that time but it got me thinking about when not to be fooling around! Stash the GPS before going for big air of a cliff! Why won't a bicycle stand up on it's own? Cause it's two tyred!
  7. Have a quick flick thru your cycle skills manual before you go Nick and you might make it out of town before falling off!
  8. Go for it P & T! Great fun. Obviously you need to select suitable caches so interogate the map and plan to walk or cycle. Met up with Stuey for the Ben Nevis meet hence he's seen the setup. Cached my way up thru Glen Coe part foot part MTB. Water of Leith Trail I did with Highland Nick recently was a most enjoyable day in the saddle. Check out the likes of Pooh Sticks in Oxfordshire, 5+ mile round trip and a must for an MTB! Knocked out 5 multis before lunch that day! Don't start me off on my night time MTB escapades! Two o'clock in the morning blasting down Oxfordshires best dirt tracks with halogen lights ablaze! (and the Police running around all night chasing UFO sightings!) I'll stick the MTB on the back of the car for the NW meet 16 Oct and I can also show you the handlebar GPS setup. If you want any assistance with what to get drop me a line, Pyoung1s@aol.com. It's worth giving Halfords the once over especially if your nearest has a Bikehut. Remember, always wear a helmet and when riding at night make sure it's got loads of halogen lights attached to it!
  9. Well done Gary, have you reached the end of the trail yet?! There's a good link here where you can write about your lost in Leith experience! We expect to see an improvement in your golf handicap by the time you've finished in St Andrews! Good luck with the brain bashing!
  10. As most caching is done in wooded areas you should be able to get communication sorted out from this website here. Probably need a multi branch connector though.
  11. Ullium, don't forget to put Nicks and my names on your certificate. If I remember right we were there with you when ANGELA found it!
  12. Well done on setting up your cache ready for the NW meet P&T/CT&J. The event is shaping up to be an interesting day. Many thanks for leaving me plenty of space for my mystery cache much appreciated. A requestful reminder to everyone to leave the reservoir area of Lymm Dam clear for me please!
  13. Well done Nawtcher, and from such a remote location!
  14. I think you two would be better off sorting this out with pistols, or should that be handbags, at dawn! Thanks marmal for a most enjoyable day cycling backwards and forwards across Edinburgh! Great fun hurtling about on the MTB and I didn't hit a single ped! Nick and I worked well as a team despite being put to shame more than once by Sally's team of beginnners! It wasn't that ardous a day to warrant Nick kissing the pavement outside the PH although he would have been better off getting off his MTB first! Thanks for your company Nick. See you all again soon!
