  1. "Per British Geocaching eo saecula saeculorum" By means of British Geocaching travel without end.
  2. "If found do not keep as souvenir!"
  3. Ah, so you're the Graphics Designer Peter! I had Joanne down as a Graphics Design Sales Coordinator and you down as a dog handler! Great effort both yourself and Ali. I'd like a few as souveniers but I'll wait till I pick them up from caches!
  4. Oh, how romantic! Nearly as romantic as mine! Well done Nick & Caroline, all the best for the future. (When's the stag party Nick?!)
  5. Geocaching is for your enjoyment as much as anyone else! If you're not comfortable with picking up the TB then leave it where it is, there is no obligation for you to move it. You can, of course, note the tracking number then on return to your PC retrieve and drop it back into the cache, that will add it to your inventory and, 10 pts COTM! If you decide not to take the TB and are not interested in logging it I believe it would be useful to make reference to the TB in your cache listing log so that the owner can see that you haven't taken it therefore avoiding emails trying to confirm what you have (or haven't!) done with it. It also confirms that the TB is still in the cache, unfortunately there does appear to be cachers out there who move them but don't log them. As you may have noticed I've come across just a few TBs on my travels! I've never experienced any difficulties with owners. If I can't meet with the TBs mission then I move it on as soon as possible. I do try to preplan the pickup and if I feel it will be detrimental to the TBs mission I'll log it and leave it! Eventually someone will pick it up and send it in the right direction. Don't feel harrassed by the owners enquiry! Feel honoured that you've made contact with another of the Geocaching community's wonderful participants (sorry, was that a bit thickly layered?!!)! Hope that is of some help and you're quite welcome to email me if you feel I can be of further assistance. But, please don't ask me to grab a TB from you and get it to Outer Mongolia! I've gone to some lengths TB hunting but that would be asking at bit much!
  6. Email Jestjuggle something along the lines... I'm a TB hunter with large pockets and can possibly meet! If anyone is aware of TBs over here needing to get over there start reporting them in and we'll see if we can talk Jestjuggle into bringing and extra suitcase. I would do my best to trawl but it would all depend on Jestjuggles intinary.
  7. Two months to go to the end of 2004 COTM. Who will come out supreme cacher of the year?! Let's set the scene as at the end of Oct: Myself 12010 and 2050 pts clear of Seasider on 9960. Is it a two horse race (will John get off the IOW alive?!)?! So who's in contention? Pengy & Tigger on 7530 are trailing top spot by 4480. It's possible providing both myself and John don't make it back from the IOW! The girls are too honest to attempt concurrent caching! The Haywood Hornet on 6620 is down 5390 but for a Geography teacher who doesn't know east from west (sorry Ian but you did log it!) what hope has he got?! aRRKs are keeping pace on 6480 but 5530 down keeping pace will not be good enough! They're pretty sharp with the FTFs but it can be somewhat frustrating to spend hours trying to ensure an FTF to find a pair of sneaky sods have engineered a stealth FTF by delaying making the log entry on the cache listing! Oh, its so frustrating!! As the cliche goes, they'll need to raise there game! Volvo Man's continual slide southwards has brought Subarite up (OK, your 740 Oct pts did help!) but what about Purple Penguin?! Just out of the top 10 at end of Sep leaps up 3 places. Is this a cacher on a mission?! Pharisee is 7890 pts behind top down in 9th, so is this the highest he will get this year?! Holding up the top 10 is Jessex who appears to have taken a liking to being in 10th! Try not to get too excited and, as they say on Crimewatch UK, please don't have nightmares! Come to think of it, we'll soon know who's on a mission when the night finds start coming in!
  8. What do you get when you cross GBs "I'm not a numbers man" with the Prince of Darkness? Plenty of sucking of teeth at Seasiders claim of hitting all IOW caches in 24hrs. Well after a very successful planning meeting on Friday (and before the beer began to flow)..... John might have the highest cache tally in GB but on this one he appears to have set his sights too low! Targets are up and the cachemobile is aimed and ready..... we are going for the trigs as well - ALL in 24hrs! Watch this space! John, don't forget these!
  9. Additional hint for Crocodile Hill - "The cache is lodged down the side of a large rock, possible covered by furns."!
  10. Not necessarily a story but certainly proof of a sense of humour 93 CURRENT!
  11. Ah, what's that I see? It's another of those Geocaching plastic box cache things. Fair game! Load another RPG, this one's dead meat!
  12. I've already mentioned the idea to Highland Nick. If something can be organised and he is roped in (literally) we'll have our own Mountain Rescue on hand! (Maybe an idea for a future Scotland event Sally?) Here's for a good fall of snow this winter! I've already got snow tyres on order for the 4x4 in anticipation!
  13. Well done John, number 400 in the dark, where was I?!
  14. Yep, my list was correct! 2002 and 2001 off in the post. Now, I've got 2000 which is two seperate discs for GB and Europe. Suppose I place one near Manchester and the other near Southampton (IOW maybe)! Ho, ho, ho merry Christmas! Knitting needles at dawn Brian? Back to back, take ten cross stitches, turn and cast off!
  15. I'll refer back to this topic when I get home later and see what I've actually got in the bottom draw! Brian, this link should help answer your Autoroute/Mapsource question!
  16. Just you, me and the rope Alibags! I'll be a willing 'local volunteer'!!!
  17. "Well done Mr Holmes!" "Thank you Dr Watson!"
  18. Brilliant idea! Once I've sorted Ullium out I'll stick the others out into caches so if you want an old copy get your order in quick!
