  1. Your wiki can be updated some. If you convert GPX track from Colorado/Oregon with GPSBable, you can upload them to Garmin Training Center (free download software at garmin) There you can see you cadence, heart rate and track log. It gives nearly the same information as my Edge 305. (missing lap function)
  2. You can have multiple maps on your SD card. Old GPS In Mapsource select tiles from all your different maps and send it to your SD card. http://www8.garmin.com/cartography/mapsourceTutorial.html If you try to send one map from mapsource to SD card, and then later send one extra to your SD card, the first is over written, so you need to send all maps in one job from mapsource. New GPS (Colordao/Oregon with latest firmware) Then you can copy several img fil to your SD card, naming them TopoCanada.img CNNA2010.1.img etc I
  3. 60 60C 60CS Do NOT work with NT maps (They need the old non-NT maps, not updated any more) 60Cx 60CSx Does work with NT maps
  4. I do not say that we do not need it, but take in care that you need to have free view to the south and that its hard to get fix to waas bird and the more to the north you are, and that it give use so little more accurance, I do not care about it. If I need more accurate measure for a cache, I do use averaging of 50 points.
  5. If you do a search here on the forum you will find a lot of articles discussing if waas is good ore not. Conclusion: If you are not in a plane, you do not need waas/egnos. IF you read all about waas, you will see that it is primary made for making GPS more accurate for airplane. All Nüvi do have waas/egnos, but Garmin has selected to not show any information about it, since you get all this long discussion if it work or not, or if you need it or not. You do not need it... Taken from Wiki .
  6. I do use my cell phone as a file manager, but do agree that all Garmin should have a file manager.
  7. What 2010 map? North America? Did you have it on the SD card? What was the name of it? When I am back from holiday, I will test it trough.
  8. ALERT There is a bug when you renaming a map. If you rename it from gmapsupp.img to CNEU2010.img you can no longer search for POI on the maps. Try to search for Street Address, and it ask you for a country. It does not show Norway/Denmark etc. If you rename map back to gmapsupp.img all is ok. This is tested on the SD card. Map looks ok on the display and I did only have one map on the SD card. Can any test this with City Navigator North America 2010
  9. I do agree with you. Round is best, but 6.14+ is not usable for me, 6.13.7 is ok, but not perfect.
  10. For my area the map is so distorted that I have trouble to recognize the area compare to the paper maps. Here is the link to the software that will convert all maps in the new format back to the old img format and at the same time install MapSource 6.13.7 http://members.ziggo.nl/zumo/cne2009_multilang.html Why have someone bothered to make a software like this. 1. MapSource 6.14+ is bad regarding aspect ratio. 2. All new maps are stored to the USER folder and not to a folder that you can select (this will always be C: drive if OS is installed there)
  11. New MapSource also makes the maps looks more blurry and roads not so easy to see.
  12. I do agree that 6.13 is not round, but 10 times better than 6.15
  13. @Prime Suspect This changed dramatically from 6.13.x to 6.14.x Its so bad that Norway does not look like the country I know, and Garmin has confirmed that this is an error and will fix it. On 6.13 maps looks always wrong when zooming out to see the whole world, but become better the more you zoom in, ind maps looks like the paper map I do have. But 6.14+ does looks very bad. Here is two example on the same location. 6.15 6.13 Here is a picture of the city Tromsø in Norway. Both picture are with the same setting. Tromsø and area around looks like on paper map witj 6.13 Looking at this and you have trouble to see that this is from the same location. 6.15 I do not like how the maps are drawed. 6.14+ slow and blure. 6.13- fast and sharp image. Look also at the roads. What is best to read??? I do convert my new City Navigator Europe 2010 back to old format, so It works with 6.13.7 (latest ok version) Garmin, Please fix know.
  14. MapSource 6.14+ has a huge ratio error. If you make a proximity circle it is not round but oval. The longer north, the more error. I have complained to Garmin on every version released since 6.13.7 (latest ok version) and Garmin has confirmed the error and told that they will fix it, but have not done it.
  15. I added 7,5 GB of maps to my Colorado just to test (using DEMO key) This has to be 8000 to 10000 tiles. Topo and BlueChart maps has lots of tiles. All maps did show up in the menu, no hang.
  16. @maalna2 You do not write if you are located in Europe or US (with EU or US maps) Here in Europe, there are lots of map better than the preloaded Topo maps. Like Topo Adventure Norway.
  17. Garmin do use the smallest possible card needed to get the map on it. I do have Europe Travel Guide, it is on a 256MB card. But you can not use it to other maps for the unit. But if you have a 760, you can use it to MP3, picture etc. I would say (If you read my post in the link above) never buy map preloaded on SD Card. The dissadvantage is so big compare to a DVD/download version.
  18. Card is not always write protected, I know people who has deleted the files on the card. You can move the map from preloaded card to your GPS and add other maps to card and all maps will work. If you remove the SD card, the map you copied from the card to your GPS will stop working.
  19. See my post here: http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...t&p=3830063
  20. Garmin will never ever let you unlock a map to two different units. When it's unlocked, it can not be revoked, so the map will work all time on the old unit. There are no way Garmin can stop a map from working. There are one exemption. If you have a broken unit and you send it to Garmin or a Garmin authorized dealer, the will make new codes for you to the replacement GPS. (they keep the old GPS)
  21. You can add POI to the Edge, but not sure if you can use the "Nüvi macro" that gives you the POI with long description.
  22. Garmin Mobil XT and the Nüvi Macro found on this site makes a good geocaching device. The large screen and touch makes it work like a Nüvi.
  23. I have ordered more than 60 item on eBay from Hong Kong and China and newer had any problem. Today the postman delivered a Japan Katana sword from China. I did take 9 days to get the 2Kg sword. Memory card do normally take 4-6 days to Europe.
  24. 2GB on eBay for $5 include shipping. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=140333804006
