Mennä metsään - yleensä tässä tapauksessa asiat menevät pieleen, mutta meikäläinen ilmoittaa lähtevänsä etsimään kätköjä.

Pari kätköä on tullut tälle vuodelle laitettua (Sculptures, Tampere ja Hiisikivi), mutta 15 kuulostaa aika isolta määrältä. Kattoo nyt, jos vaikka 5 uutta kuntaa sentäs.

Kirjasta "HOMEPERSEENSUO ja muita matkailukohteita" löytyy aika, tuota noin, erikoisia paikannimiä. Ovatko sitten kätkön arvoisia paikkoja, se onkin jo eri juttu.

Me ajelimme tuon Kuninkaantien muistaakseni 1999 Virolahdelta Turkuun. Meillä oli jokin Suomen kartanoista kertova kirja matkassa ja hulppeita kartanoita matkan varrella olikin. Reitille mahtuu kyllä monen monta paikkaa, jonne kätköä voisi ajatella.

Me olemme käyttäneet Garmin 12 GPS:ssä ladattavia AA-pattereita (1600 mAh - 2100 mAh). Täyteen ladatuilla pattereilla näyttää kuitenkin vain puoleen väliin asti "akkupykälöitä". Kuitenkin kätköilyssä yksi patterikerta on riittänyt viikon tai parin viikon kätköilyyn .

) have not directly chosen any side of the lake Pyhäjärvi for approaching Viikinsaari yet or approaching it at all. It would sure be nice to go there together, but we are going to visit the Travel Fair in Helsinki during the weekend, so we will not be in Tampere all of the weekend. We think that it would be best to discuss with you, Stu and Sarah, about the suitable time for the possbile together-made cache hunt at the friday's meeting. It is really nice to be meeting you on friday! We must also say that we are delighted about the fact that you own those TB's heading to our cache in Lapland

Today I saw ice fishers both on lake Pyhäjärvi and lake Näsijärvi. So it looks now very promising to reach those two island caches

And we might even reveal that there will perhaps be a new cache in Rovaniemi near the Arctic Circle and at the same time near Santa Claus very soon, some new eager cachers might already be on their way

I like the idea of an island cache if we can walk to it
Today I was ice fishing first time for this winter. It was a small forest lake and there was ice about 5-10 cm. I think that the weather should be quite freezing for getting safe ice on the big lakes. About 4-5 cm ice can take a human's weight.

Teen juuri karttaa, johon on punaisella merkitty kunnat, joissa kätkö on ja valkoisella missä ei vielä ole.

I have used nick Harjus also in other forums and decided to use it also here. I am "specialized" in fishing graylings (=harjus) and also in Lapland they call harjus as "harri". Those are the reasons to use pseudonym Harjus.
I searched first cache alone and Kirsi decided to come with for the second hunt. After that we both were hooked to the caching and have been caching together ever since. We decided not to change the pseudonym to other. We usually write Harjus = H&K to logbooks.

Harri red from some newspaper about geocaching in summer 2002 and checked the geocaching site. We don't know why we didn't start geocaching already then, maybe there wasn't so many geocaches in Finland yet.
Harri visited in geocaching.com again in May 2003 and noticed that there was a cache very near the place where we live. So one morning Harri left for the first hunt (Pyynikki Ridge) and was hooked immediately. At that time he couldn't really explain the greatness of this hobby to Kirsi. But when we went together for a hike to Nässynranta-cache, Kirsi was thrilled to find the cache
and realized that geocaching is a great hobby . After that we have been caching together and Harjus means H&K. -

Jep. Meidän ensimmäinen kätkö olisi tullut Pärrinkoskelle, mutta alueella oli kyltti, jossa mainittiin mm. että kaikenlainen suunnistus alueella on kielletty. Geokätköilykin ainakin meidän mielestä on jonkin sortin suunnistusta, joten hylkäsimme kätköidean.
