  1. Hello!

I'm getting ready to seek out a spot for hiding a cache (my first). I know I have to make note of the coordinates and fill out the form and submit it for review but does the cache stay hidden during that time, or do I wait for the reviewer to say that it's approved before officially hiding it?

  2. Ok - I'm a fairly new cacher and would love to get involved in some of these puzzle caches but where does one find the necessary "tools" to decipher any of these codes and symbols. Where does one learn about this stuff??? I know about the obvious one on the website - but some of these puzzles have funny symbols and I have no clue to how to begin to solve it so I can figure the cache out. Can anyone offer some help here? Thanks!

  3. Is there away to search geocaching.com for caches in my area - via searching for a specific description? I'm looking for Park and Grabs in my area and I know how to select the "symbol" for Park and Grabs but it seems not everyone lists that in their cache when they display the description of thier hide. More often than not- I see it listed (written) in the description or by someone who found the cache. Any suggestion?

  4. Hello! I'm new to geocaching and I've found a few so far but I'm looking for some tips/advice about safety when geocaching. I'm looking for information geared toward stranger danger type safety. I live in a town that is fairly safe but has some riff-raff and want to know if people who cache carry pepper spray, etc...I try and keep my eyes and ears open to strangers that look out of place but would like to know what others do. Thanks in advance for the advice.

  5. I don't have one to sell - but I just got the Geomate Jr. from Target for my 10 year old son. It's very simple to use and it already comes w/preloaded caches. You can purchase an upgrade kit (in which to keep new and updated caches on your unit) online - but it works right out of the box. I've had it less than a week and we've already found 8 caches in our area. The unit runs under $70. But you might be able to find in cheaper on this site or maybe even ebay.

I have a daughter who is feeling like she needs to have her own GPS when we are caching because having to rely on mom is not cool anymore

Because I already have a good unit for myself I am hoping to find a simple unit for her, something like the Geko would be gold but anyothers would be considered.

I have a paypal account and can pay asap for the right unit. Must be able to ship to Edmonton, AB

    Thank you for your help.
