  1. "Funny, but my cell phone only gets out if I'm prone with my nose on ground" "My ring fell in this hole. Ummm, could you grab me by the waist and give me a yank?" "I'm practicing pirouettes, what's it to you?" "The CHP up there in the helicopter is giving me a sobriety test" - JamesJM
  2. Wow General Bracket....you put in OVERtime on that one huh? don't know though....now I feel worse. I mean, by my count you came up with 60!...that's 60! and JamesJM didn't make the list. I'm not even in the top 60.
  3. But I wouldn't mind having a cool nickname...just can't think of one. Oh, and while I'm wishing.... I think the admins? Lords of the board? Whatever they are calling themselves these days...I think they should ban all these type of threads... "THIS GPS has 4,825 more features than yours has and cost $80 less". - JamesJM
  4. We've all used that one, huh? Even me, and I've only be geocaching for two weeks! It's been my experience, thus far, that dodging and hiding from prying eyes is FARRRRRRRR tougher than finding the cache itself. Being a country boy and COMPLETELY biased I think I'm going to stick to the rural caches. I can blend in there...I'm a sore thumb in the city. Amazing how many people find a bit of cow manure on your boot soles offesive...sheesh, some people huh? I'm also bad at lying, ya know...really, just terrible...take my last run-in with a nosy onlooker: "Whatcha looking for?" "Uhhh, ummm, nothing. Nothing...I mean, my keys, yeah, my keys. I dropped my keys here" "Need some help?" "Ohh, uhh, noooo, umm, not really. It's not an important key. It opens a tackle box, yeah, a tackle box....and the lock is broken so I don't really need the key at all" "You ok? "me? yeah, fine....well, must be off." "What about your key?" "Key? Oh, yeah...ummm, you can have it, if you find it". - JamesJM
  5. Well that is very good news indeed! Of course, I had already downloaded the Marine stuff so that was a waste of time. Thanks for the info..much appreciated. - JamesJM
  6. I get a warning when I'm about to transfer a map from Mapsourse that it will erase a pre-loaded map by Garmin. The only map I'm aware of on my GPS is the base map it came with...does this warning mean it will erase this map? That's very, very bad if true, even if I can get it back. I thought the base map was part of the system and any maps you download were extra's...is this not the case? - JamesJM
  7. An economy of thread space...I am sooooooo considerate. First up. What is the method most of you use to Mark a cache that you have hidden? A simple depression of MARK on your GPS or something more involved? My Garmin 12 has averaging, a nice feature, my Vista does not, or at least I haven't found it if it does. Second question. What would be the correct procedure to hide and log after moving a Travel Bug to a new cache that you've hidden yourself? Simple question, eh? I'm a simple man. - JamesJM
