Hello
Whereas geocoins are great trackable items, we all know that:
- They are expensive
- If you want to keep one copy you have to buy two (one that you keep, and the other one that you drop in a cache)
- They are stolen very quickly
I read a thread recently on these issues and someone was proposing the following solution: you buy one coin that you activate, BUT you keep the original and drop a picture of your coin in a cache. The picture can be laminated or put in a platic pouch to protect it from humidity. Doing so, cachers can still log the "coin" when they find it and, since it is just a picture, it has less value and is less prone to be stolen. In other words, it maintains the hunt and track process but you keep your investment by having the original at home.
What do you think?

Hello
With regards to the geocaching rules, it is acceptable to revisit a cache you have already found just to trade travel bugs or geocoins?
Thanks for the answer!

1. Create your cache page with as much or as little information as you have available.
2. Uncheck the box that says "Yes, this cache is active." This removes your submission from the queue of caches seen by the site volunteers as awaiting review.
3. Put your cache through, then click the link to view the cache page. Write down your brand new GC number.
4. Hide your cache.
5. Come home and edit your cache page.
6. When you're ready for your cache to be reviewed, put a checkmark back in the box that says "Yes, this cache is active." Your reviewer will then see your cache awaiting review.
Many thanks! Very helpful!

Hello
When creating a new cache, what is the best way to have the cache code before placing it?
Indeed I would like to write the code on the log, but this code will be generated once the cache is hidden and I can give the coordinates..
Can I ask for a cache creation, get the code, place the cache and update the information after the fact and before the cache is approved and published?
Thanks a lot!

Hello! I have found a pathtags coin in one of the recent caches I found. It has a track number but it looks that it can only be logged at pathtags.com. Is there any way to make it trackable through geocaching.com (besides turning it into a TB by purchasing a TB label at Groundspeak)

Hello!
I'd like to leave customized nickels (wood or metal) in the caches I find.
Do you know a good website where I can buy cheap customized nickels?
Thanks!

I found and grabbed a geocoin in a cache but the tracking information on the website is not up to date: the last cache recorded is not the right one.
I have now left this geocoin in another cache. How can I enter the right cache code in geocaching.com?
Find the trackable page for that geocoin.
"Grab" the coin with your log.
Then place it in the appropriate cache by submitting a log and highlighting the TB to drop off or posting a note for the cache and highlighting the TB to drop off.
If someone just left the coin in a cache recently they may not have had a chance to log it yet online.
***Edit to add if the coin was not logged where you found it you could log it into that cache and then remove it and then log your last drop to keep the mileage correct.***
Thanks! Fixed!

Kind of feel that I am in a similar frustrating situation with one of my TB...
How long would you recommend to wait before sending a first polite reminder to the cacher who is holding up the TB?
