  1. Sorry, I sent a PM before I saw the 'no international bidders please' I just saw the orca coin and got excited, hence me not reading the intro properly. Cheers
  2. This is one of my favourites that I have come across. AND It is not where you think it should be
  3. But if you sent him a message, I believe it comes through as an email to him. This might have been the incentive to get him going as well.
  4. I am loving this thread. There are some really spectacular places that make me want to run out the door and see......
  5. I don't think you are ever too old to geocache. However if the fun has come out of it, take a break and see how you feel in a couple of months time. Owning caches does put a bit of pressure on you in that you need to maintain them, but adopting a large portion out may reduce the pressure and the demand on your time. As with anything in life, sometimes we need to take time out for a while.

  7. What I have noticed about those "Yay" logs if they have 'yayed' just before my find. A lot of times, I have not seen their name in the actual log in the cache.
  8. I very much agree. My stamp is smaller and crisper than my handwriting and easily fits in most log sheet lined paper. Obviously, I use a pin for nano logs, or those sheets too narrow to fit my stamp. Glad to hear that Alaska, I was not referring to all stamps. As with everything, there are some people who consider others, and there are some who just do not care.
  9. There are a few stamps that I have seen in logs which are definitely too large. If everyone had big stamps, the poor CO's would be out every week or so needing to replace some of the logs
  10. My son introduced me to caching when he asked if we minded stopping so he could log a cache. I then asked a bit more about it. When we went on holidays, we did a lot of caching together. Now that we are back home, I have overtaken his score of finds and he is not too impressed
  11. Could you please tell me if we send the card and coin anonymously? Or do we sign as to who we are? Thank you
  12. Our Post Offices do not open until Tuesday as we are in Australia Day celebrations and Monday is a public holiday. But my mission will be sent after that
  13. I am only very new to geocaching but I am a long time snoopy collector. I was not around when the snoopy coin was released and I was wondering if anyone wanted to sell theirs. I cannot offer a swap as I have only bought a couple of coins very recently so they will not be worth anything to anyone yet. Thank you
  14. I really do not understand why people do not give out favourites more often. I give them to caches, who in my opinion have put a lot of effort into their cache and really put a big smile on my face. It is almost like giving a round of applause to the owner of the cache. Needless to say, I do not have any favourites points to give at the moment. It is not as if you pay for the points or anything. What is wrong with giving credit where credit is due?

  18. I am a facebook junkie! Yes I admit it. But it is only as good as when you are reading it live (or close to). Forums are fantastic in that it holds search engines which allows people to look for certain topics etc, before they come up publically to ask a question that has been asked every month for the past couple of years. It holds a lot more information and allows you to come back and check on things you know you have read, but forgot about the finer details. I find social media is good to get information out fast and for small talk. Forums are great for more well informed documented information.
  19. I can understand your frustration. I have not placed a cache yet as I am still very new to caching, but I am really eager to be the proud owner of some soon. The one thing I have noticed is that some caches are so well thought out and a lot of imagination and artistic flair has gone into designing them. I would be devastated if one of the really prized gems were interfered with for whatever reason. I can see how your heart and soul can go into a well thought out cache and how your heart could get ripped out if someone disabled or destroys it on purpose. I can only say, that you need to continue, knowing that you have brought so much happiness and placed so many smiles of the cachers who have come beforehand and will continue to come in the future.
  20. I am pretty new to this also but I found that if I was able to, I would walk away and think about the details that were given to me. I have gone back to two DNF that I have logged and found them on the second go. Sometimes, it needs a bit of thinking space and a fresh set of eyes. There have been a couple where I personally think that the cache has definitely been lifted for whatever reason.
  21. That is an extremely generous donation from the mystery sender. I would just like to personally thank you as we do not have enough people like you in the world.
