  1. I am fairly new to this sport but I have hit several caches recently that had all had long lists of travel bugs that were supposed to be in the cache. Upon finding, the bugs are nowhere to be found. The one I found last night had a list of 7 travel bugs and 2 geocoins that were supposed to be inside. None were in the cache! Am I just having bad luck or are the lists always inaccurate?
  2. Any smoke shop (head shop) will have whatever kind of baggies you want. Just don't get the ones with the little pot leaves on them.
  3. It is not criminal trespassing unless you remain on the property after being asked to leave by an employee, owner, etc. OR if you have been told by an employee, owner, etc. IN THE PRESENCE of an officer, that you are not allowed on the property, and you then remain or come back on the property. If there are signs around about trespassing, that is a different story. I've learned that law enforcement officers will say whatever they think will intimidate you into doing what they want, whether it is true or not. Best to just apologize and leave because an officer can always find some reason to haul you in if he needs to, whether legitimate or not.
  4. I just got my Triton 2000 about 3 days ago and I love it. A lot of people have their Triton for a couple days and give up on it because there is a lot to learn and figure out how to use. I am becoming very comfortable with the unit now and LOVE it! The only complaint I have is that the manual is not the greatest. It tells you HOW to do things but doesn't tell you WHY you would want to do it. For example it will tell you how to change a setting but doesn't tell you what that setting actually does. The unit also sucks up batteries but I am using Energizer rechargeables now so that shouldn't be a problem. The unit will also not allow you to take any pics or save audio without having the optional SD card.
  5. FYI.. Overstock.com sucks! I received what was supposed to be my Triton 2000. Upon opening the box, it was found that they sent me a digital camera worth about $200. They stated to me on the phone that I was sent the incorrect item BECAUSE they were out of the Triton 2000. What a bunch of losers! They are now out of the Triton 2000 and don't know when they will have it in stock.
  6. I ordered my Triton 2000 which is IN STOCK at Overstock.com. They had it for about $459 and if you use the 8% off coupon from mycouponbox.com, it takes the price, with shipping to about $420. It shipped out today and I should have it in a couple of days. I am SO excited.

  8. I emailed REI and asked them if and when they would be selling the Triton series GPS. Here is the response I received: {Hello, Thank you for your inquiry regarding the Magellan Triton. We will be carrying the Triton 2000. We are expecting to receive them around the first week of October. The item number will be 761207. Please let us know if you have any further questions. Lea D. 9. I checked with Garman and they stated that the pre-loaded sd cards cannot be viewed on a computer. If you want to be able to view the maps on a computer then you have to purchase the DVD version.
  10. I am looking to get either the Garmin MapSource pre-loaded topo 2008 on the sd card or the DVD version. Does anyone have any opinion on which is better or easier or more functional. Can you view the pre loaded sd card maps on your computer or only on the GPS unit? The only reason I would get the DVD is if this is the only way to view the maps on the larger computer screen when needed. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
