Here are my answers: 1. 13.06.2007 in our very first cache during our holidays in North Germany we found a "Dutch Geocoin 2005" 2. I bought my first coin (Geocacher's Day) in January 2008 send it into the wild and it was lost 2 years later after 9500km in Florida 3. not yet but I'm sure I will do it someday, just need the money and a good idea! 4. I traded one of my German Tranquility for a Neptunes Compass Deep Sea in April 2010? 5. First the coin, then the forum and the addiction last ?

Hello Cockney Pixie and welcome to the Geocoin Forum. First of all you should wait a few days because it is possible that the cacher who put the coin in the cache was there on a trip and had no chance to get to a computer to log it yet. After a while you can use the "grab it from current holder" to get the coin in your inventory. Usually I write then a notice in the cache where I found the coin, put it into that cache and take it out again so the travel history of the coin is correct then.

I would definitely go for the red/yellow one too, awesome coin!

You may ask how did I know... Well, I did a big mistake and did not set 2 of my coins that I already traded to zero (though I was sure that I did it but it was very late in the night when I did it). When I saw the results of the math trade I was completely shocked and after checking my want list I felt so bad - it was my fault!!! In the end I was sooooo lucky under these circumstances because I had sent both coins to exactly the same address as it should have gone to in the math trade AND The Moop Along had lots of understanding and offered me a nice solution - THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THAT!!!!!! In some posts I already mentioned that for me this here is the best and nicest forum in the world and that coiners are a very special and nice group of people. There are a lot of stories that you can read here about the generosity, the warmheartedness and unselfishness of this community: - newbies are welcomed and not forced to use the search feature first - coins are given as presents to others that they have never met before - often very limited coins are traded one to one for regular coins - mystery coiners mint coins and send them into the world without the name of the sender - in missions often much more things are included into the package than necessary - and so on and so on All things are pieces of a puzzle which together form THE SPIRIT OF THE COINERS! Now I would like to collect these stories and maybe to hear of stories that have not been written yet in the forum. I thought it might be good idea to do this with a cointest (my first one!). So here is the task: Write your favorite story or stories of where you have experienced this spirit. Let us know for example where you had been overwhelmed by someone´s generosity. Or write a story about the small things which are also a piece of the puzzle. To open the cointest also to those that have not yet experienced the spirit just write about a story that you read in this forum which impressed you. The cointest will end on February the 28th. I will pick the winner by random so everybody has got the same chance. The price will be one of my favorite coins: a 1,75'' Tengwar 2-tone shiny Silver on Gold (as far as I know only 50 were made)

Our second package arrived today and what a great one!!!! Unbelievable! But let´s tell the whole story: Today at work my wife called me to let me know that a BIG package arrived for our son Lars. My son was very excited and happy and told me something like this: I got a LEGO “Buzz's Star Command Spaceship” with Buzz and with a bad guy and with a car and you can even open the cockpit and you can open the back and there is a special place to put the car inside and it has got 257 pieces and the car is carrying a big bottle and there was also a firetruck geocoin inside where the wheels can really turn (this is just a rough summary of the things he said). Summarized my son was very delighted. When I got home he was just fixing the last parts and still was very excited. I took a picture of our happy son with the spaceship and he told me to take another one where you can see the ship with all doors open plus the little men plus the car plus the geocoin. Dear Maine family and especially dear grandson of the Maine family: we are speechless about this big package and we (especially Lars) want to say a big THANK YOU! That was really a great surprise! I also would like to thank Write Shop Robert for this great mission. What a fun it was to take part in it and to prepare surprise packages for other people. Thank you so much for this great idea!

In the very first cache we found was a Geocoin (a Dutch Geocoin 2005) and I loved them from that moment on. I started to buy a few and put a few out into the wild. Then I started to collect them. As you described it I tried to buy only the really nice onces, only the must to have ones. Forget it!!!!!!!!!!!! There are more of these coins than you think and its getting more and more. There is no escape. Right now I accepted my addiction and are happy enough that I have a lovely wife who is at least tolerating that. She likes my sparkling eyes when I come home and I there is a bubble envelope to open - looks like a child at Xmas for sure My 7 year old son likes them too of course (he has allreday some pirate coins) and even my 1 year old daughter loves them. I have a box with traders and she loves it to take them all out of the box and then back into the box and so on and so on. She can do that for hours and I can watch her for hours...
