  1. I look for something newer than its surroundings.
  2. 1 a month seems average. Pretty dull here
  3. I've kinda been doing something like this. Everytime I look for GC1H837 I do it from the top of the hill (via a shuttle) on my mountain bike. My personal record for top speed reached on the windy forest service road is 55.6 km/h. Unfortunately the cache owner decided to delete the logs for most of my attempts. It doesn't really have anything to do with the cache though.
  4. I used to use a flux, because of the coverage and large vents. But when I did the endo that separated my shoulder it ended up way back of my head, even with the strap adjusted properly. It would just rotate backwards around my skull, making it largely useless at the times I actually needed it. Factor in the huge price and low quality craftsmanship and it's a route I wont go again.
  5. I had 9 finds if i recall correctly. That was pretty much every cache within 20km of me though. I think ideally you should be around 30 finds before you hide one, as that'll be a pretty good sample base. It's all relative though; I've seen people with tons of finds leave relatively poor caches.
  6. This is my geo bike. I prefer it over my full-suspension bikes because it was far less expensive, so I don't fret about it growing legs when I'm turned the other way looking for a cache.
  7. My caches are worth a buck. You guys aren't; what with your poor logs and crappy swag. The nerve i tells ya.....
  8. I hate to have to say it, but read the guidelines. This exact topic is covered, and you're required to read and understand them before you submit a new cache anyways.
  9. After looking through my list of trackables I noticed that just one of my coins doesn't show its release date/location. Is that information optional? Did I just not enter it when I activated the coin? Also, is it possible to edit this info?
  10. I dropped my car keys once. I was very surprised to see them laying in the trail when I walked out.
  11. I find it bizarre that you equate a good natured, momentary startling to mental anguish, but having your possessions stolen over and over again for a period of years doesn't. Slightly inconsistent IMHO.
  12. The only time it is acceptable to replace a cache is if the cache container is damaged beyond repair. Don't ever replace a cache that you "think" is missing, because it's incredibly presumptuous.
  13. This story is so full of win. Even if it doesn't stick, it's good to publicly embarrass this guy a bit.
  14. I like the idea. Not sure how much participation you'll get though.
  15. It does seem dishonest to go out ahead of time, take the prize, and then lie about it in the log. The FTF thing gets lame like this sometimes.
  16. I'm still here for mission 2! I've just been watching the traveller instead of this thread.
  17. I prefer the awards idea to numerical ratings. If for no other reason than to avoid the inevitable flood of noobies coming into and asking "WHY MY CASHE GET LOW RATING?". I'd be happy just knowing which caches were the highlights, so if I only had time to do a couple they'd be memorable. I don't really need to know which caches are stinkers.
  18. Hmm, the server seems to have lost my last attempt at a reply. Anyways, I make mine that way. ,snip> Each one takes about 15 minutes to make, and costs me about a dime. It's kinda hard to tell, but I use a butane torch to discolor the tag before I engrave it, so it comes out in a silver on bronze sort of scheme. Ooo neat thanks Is that with the tool on a very low (shallow) setting? And what attachments did you use? I assume you have a finer one for the writing at the top? I use a 7144 diamond bit for the entire thing. The engraving itself is very shallow, since the tags are steel and very hard.

  20. Takes a brave man to do that to someone who is packing a gun. Lol, that wasn't the right link. I meant to link to
  21. I think it would be funny. It's not like you're doing to someone. And most of those window alarms are quieter than an average alarm clock, so it's not like you're going to cause hearing damage.
  22. I'm still looking for an Earth Elements Compass in AG. Anyone? Pretty Please?
