  1. So many lucky finders. Congratulations to all!
  2. Congratulations tadpole379! What a great story. I'm hoping that if the fairy flies anywhere near here it will be closer but I doubt it. But then again you never know This is way too much fun!
  3. We came across a mystery cache exactly like that in Oklahoma so I would chance a guess and say they would. I like the idea and may even do one around here.
  4. We try to move any TB's we have within a couple weeks if we can. Sometimes there is a terrible lack of caches suitable to place them in or the ones large enough aren't in a very secure location. We haven't released any ourselves yet but I wouldn't hesitate to send a polite email.
  5. We cache with our four kids (one pre-teen) and they enjoy the usual kids items. Our oldest will trade for a carabiner. We seldom trade for anything unless its a signature item from another cacher. We try to carry interesting items for trade. Small sunscreen, sewing kits, salt and pepper shakers, maps. Stuff like that. We stock our hides pretty well but with the knowledge they won't stay that way. But around here if a rural cache gets visited once a month it's on fire. I've got a cache that's a month old and still no FTF yet!
  6. We're all crossing our fingers and hoping for terrible weather over the weekend to keep all the other cachers indoors! Good luck Deafhunt!
  7. Congratulations to all!!! Thanks Geocoin Fairy!
  8. I'm getting the same error message.
  9. She's ever so close!!(fingers and toes crossed) Congratulations to all the finders! The pictures are great. That's what makes geocaching so much fun for us. The looks on the faces of our kids when they find a cache or see something on our little adventures. Thanks GCF for keeping the magic alive!
  10. I use Avery 8167 which are return address labels. They measure 1/2" x 1 3/4" and take up less room then my handwriting will. Those are the same ones we use and they don't take up much room. About the same as a signature anyway. Avery's online templates are really easy to use also. They allow you to be pretty creative.
  11. We sometimes use labels on micros depending on the log size and space left. Mostly because they can be predated in the car for faster log signing in high traffic areas. I REALLY like that idea. Where do you get them?
  12. That's what I do except I delete the old log and make a new log so the owner and people on the watchlist get an email notification. I include my complete history including my failed attempt(s) in my find log. One log makes it much easier and more fun to read in the future if I go back and read my old logs. I had no idea you could even do that. It's a really good idea. I think we'll start doing that ourselves.
  13. Congratulations and another welcome to the addiction! I still remember the look on my six year olds face when he found his first cache. Your going to have a blast!
  14. There are so many caches that have been great adventures it's hard to choose. We've even had some great DNF's. I guess if we had to choose one it would be GCG4QK We had a great time on that one. A lot of memories were created on that day.
  15. Wow! Those are some great photos! Here's ours: Here's the link to vote if you like it. This whole contest is very exciting! Our Entry
  16. Awesome! Congratulations to all who found the GCF coins. Sooner or later the Geocoin Fairy will have to fly to our area! We'll all be watching.
  17. Now that I want to see! I can imagine the logs already.
  18. My close friend posted a cache for review and it was done 1 hour later! So beat that! lol I know of one cache that was posted in under 15 minutes! Now that's fast.
  19. All Right! Here's a link to some public domain geocaching logos: Public Domain Goecaching Logos Hope that helps
  20. I spoke to a former member of the KGA and she said that it dissolved.
  21. Ha! I just went through some old GSAK files where I had saved the trip to Jones, and found it. I just now logged my DNF. Not to worry, seems the hider will not be bothering you SW MI cachers any more. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...68-1fe104ed90e8 Oh my. Go down to the "Maintenance Log" by the cache owner and check out the link for their "Service".... (NSFW) Wow!...
  22. I find it offensive. At the very least even if someone had no issue with it whatsoever, it should be considered in poor taste considering the issue some cachers would obviously have with the name. I think you did the right thing.
  23. How incredibly COOL! I wonder who it is? Whoever they are they deserve some thanks for adding more magic to an already incredible game. Now I have to find the answer to another question. How do you go about baiting a fairy??
  24. Congratulations!!!!!! We love it when people find our caches. There aren't many cachers in our area so they don't get found often. Every log entry that comes into our inbox makes me fell like a kid at Christamas! Your hides look great. I like the themes and the area seems perfect. Now that you know they fun of ownership, wait until you find your first cache!!
