This is the 10th year that I have produced a geocoin for Remembrance Day.
This year's coin recognizes the sacrifices of Canadian soldiers in the liberation of the Netherlands and the enduring connection between these two nations.
The coins measure 45mm in diameter and 3mm thick.
There are five editions of this geocoin:

20th Anniversary of Geocaching Group Project
On May 2nd at approximately midnight, the "big blue switch" was pressed and selective availability on civilian GPS receivers was removed. Twenty-four satellites around the globe processed new orders, and the accuracy of GPS technology improved tenfold. On May 3rd, Dave Ulmer placed a black bucket in the woods near Beavercreek, Oregon along with a logbook, pencil, and other various trade items - the first geocache. He shared the coordinates of his "stash" with an online community on sci.geo.satellite-nav and geocaching was born.
Fast-forward almost twenty years and there are now over three million active geocaches in 191 different countries and on all seven continents. On May 3rd, 2020 we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of that first cache placement.

Hi there,
When viewing my statistics page on the maps tab I noticed that the flag for the province of Québec wasn't showing up.
I took a quick look at the source and it appears that the page code simply takes the province name and uses it to reference the .png file in the /images directory.
However, Québec has an accent on the first 'e', which is not allowed in a URL. The code needs to be modified to scrub out accents before using them in a url.

Looking at the source code for the All Geocoins page, the ID for the coin is 10356. My last order was 10306 on January 18, 2018 so this one was ordered sometime after that.
The coin probably hasn't been made available for sale yet.

I will be in Nepal for the next two weeks. I just found this thread but it looks like the number of caches hasn't changed since this thread was started.
I'll be in Kathmandu for a couple of days and in Kakarvitta the rest of the time. No caches down that way so I'll have to find something in the capital.

Canada is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.
From April 9th to 12th, 1917, the four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought side-by-side for the first time, securing a great victory. The ingenuity and fighting skills demonstrated at Vimy marked the coming of age of the Canadian military.
Vimy became a symbol for the sacrifice of the young Dominion. In 1922, the French government ceded to Canada in perpetuity Vimy Ridge, and the land surrounding it. The gleaming white marble and haunting sculptures of the Vimy Memorial, unveiled in 1936, stand as a terrible and poignant reminder of the 11,285 Canadian soldiers killed in France who have no known graves.
This year's coins commemorate the achievements of Canada's military at Vimy and the memorial that now stands there. The colours on the back of the four RE coins represent the colour patches worn by members of each of the four divisions of the Canadian Corps.

In feudal Japan bushido ("the way of the warrior") was the code of moral principles which the samurai were required or instructed to observe. It is a code unuttered and unwritten; an organic growth of decades and centuries of military career. In order to become a samurai this code had to be mastered.
The seven virtues are loyalty, courage, compassion, respect, honesty, honour, and integrity. As you can see this is not only a good code for a samurai to live by, but for those of any profession or hobby. Even geocachers!
The coin is shaped like a tsuba -- the guard at the end of the grip on bladed Japanese weapons such as the katana. It contributes to the balance of the weapon, but more importantly it prevents the hand from sliding onto the blade.

The Canada Series of geocoins will celebrate the 10 provinces and 3 territories that make up our great country in this our 150th year of confederation. Each coin in the series will fit together to form a map of Canada.
This project has been approved by Heritage Canada's Canada 150 Team and each coin will incorporate the Canada 150 logo. The series will also have the custom tracking code prefix 'EH'.
Nova Scotia geocachers Beaver Pelt and hirtle are the brains behind this huge project. They approached me a year ago, and after being sworn to secrecy I began work on the difficult design. Now, finally, I am able to break the silence and announce THE CANADA SERIES!
The first coin in the series covers the three maritime provinces -- Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. These three provinces are each comparatively small but of huge importance to our nation. Nova Scotia and New Brunswick were two of the first four provinces to join confederation, and Prince Edward Island played host to the first conference where the union was discussed.
This first coin is made up of four parts: the base, and the three provinces. Each provincial piece will have its own tracking number and its own unique icon -- so this is actually three geocoins in one! Each provincial piece is held on the base piece with a magnet. The base piece is shaped to show Canada's 200 nautical mile maritime limit.

It's likely the most famous trackable in geocaching history: the Original Can of Beans.
The first geocache was placed on May 3, 2000 in Oregon by Dave Ulmer. The items contained in the black plastic bucket included software, videos, books, food, money and a slingshot. The food included a can of beans.
By October, the original cache had fallen victim to Department of Transport workers clearing brush. The Original Can of Beans (or OCB) is the last remaining piece of that original cache.
When it was discovered, the can was quite damaged as it was partially buried and exposed to the weather. It was carefully straightened out, cleaned and treated with rust stopper and UV-resistant polyurethane. Now, it is taken to events around the world so people can see the history. The next stop will be this summer in Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada at Maritime Mega IV (GC6MET1).
The MMIV Organizing Committee requested that I design a geocoin to commemorate the visit.

Canada is turning 150, and to celebrate, PHDCoins.ca will be creating a number of commemorative items. The latest is the O Canada 150 Suncatcher geocoin. It measures 45mm across and features the Canada 150 logo.
