I remember a certain Fish Eagle been hot on my tail in an event at magobeskloof, and having a hint that said at the base of a pine tree under a rock covered with pine needles, this was a very discriptive hint, but concidering we were in a forest of over a 1000 pine trees with rocks everywhere and about 6 ft of pine needles on the ground, it dident help much

timmo - I remember CF had all sorts of problems with GC.com with his event in Midrand and had to cancel it. After much wrangling it was allowed. I would suggest perhaps that you contact him for some pointers. I am sure he will help you on that score. Good luck, I would love to attend but that would depend on me being in the country. I remember, and we actualy won that event, the problem there was the fact that they thought they were having an event for the sponsors to gain moneys from the it, the event we would host would be within guidelines of Groundspeak. as for being in the country, just jump on a plane!!

Hi Guys I am considering doing a big event (sponsors, prizes ala Crystal Fairy style) I just want to see how many people would be interested in doing an event like this again? would be over a weekend with accomodation for those who travel from far off (fish eagle!!!!). let us know if you guys would be interested!

We attended the event as a team called wiff gritt with a cacher from the uk, gaugeman and it was fantastic. you just have to read the logs on geocaching.com to see that everyone had a great day. Thanks to crystal fairy, team ginger and show me the cache for all their hard work!!! also without sponsors events like these would not be able to take place, some of us are competitive others not, we need to grow the sport in SA and the only way to do that is to get people to be aware of geocaching, formula one would be nowhere without sponsorship and premotions!! I met at least 10 new cachers on the day who were so kean, so insted of moaning about big sponsors getting involved maybe you could introduce the sport to 10 new people this weekend???? Timmo
