Any updates on this? The site is unusable right now. I can't get anything to come up, unless I just let it run and come back in five mintues.

For what it is worth:
I purchased the HCx and my geobuddy bought the 60. When we are together caching I have not noticed a spec of difference in performance. The big thing I see is that my unit is much easier to carry around, easier to operate and seems to start-up faster. The odometer issue is a pain, since I do a lot of hiking. But, keep in mind that you can download your track when you get home and get all the info you want from that. Bottom line: I don't use the odometer function.

EasyGPS makes it snap to change how geocaches are loaded into the GPS. Personally I use the the default format, but using EasyGPS you can send the Geocache name and Hint if you wanted to.
In the EasyGPS main menu select:
1> Edit
2> Preferences
3> My GPS Receivers
4> Geocaching
5> Then set the output format to your tastes.
EasyGPS is a freeware program

I have had this problem as well. The issue could be related to the bug discussed here:
http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...=173260&hl=
Trying switching to compass page and check to see if you are really heading towards the cache. I have found that on the HCx the map screen stops updating if I am moving at very slow speeds. Also, hit the menu key once and use the "recalculate" function to reset. Stand still for about a minute and things should zero in again.

Depending on when you purchased V2008 garmin will allow you to add a second GPS, but you will have to contact their tech support directly.

If you are using a Download Manager (Like DAP) turn it off for Geocaching.com. Problem solved.

"When is the internal compass being used on the compass page and when is the GPS signal being used?"
Simple answer is when you are stopped you will be using the electronic compass (If you left the unit set to its defaults). If you are getting odd results you may not have calibrated the internal compass. For example when you are stopped the compass seems to shift around and point the wrong way. Remember to look at the external ring for direction and the red arrow for destination.

EasyGPS will do the trick for you. However, there is one problem. If you are using the newest version of windows (Vista) you may find that serial comunication will not work. If on the other hand you are using Windows XP or earlier you should be fine.

I have introduced a couple of people to Geocaching. No horror stories. in fact all had a great time. My sister and her husband went out and bought a GPSr the next week.
I had the hints with me just in case and made sure I knew the area we were going to.

I have no problem with this type cache idea if:
1. The family of the departed are aware of it or created the cache.
2. There is a safe way to reach the loaction.

On the 2.57 firmware of my 500, the projection feature is under Advanced Features. This was not available on the original release of the 500, but only came out with the first firmware upgrade offered for it. If you have the 1.75 firmware on your 210, I expect that you need an upgrade to be able to project.
Thanks for the info. I see that a new version is available for the Europe version of the 210. I will wait until it is available for the US and hope it has that feature.

I have been doing some research on this, but I can't seem to find an answer to this question.
Is it possible to project a waypoint using an Explorist 210?
I found this help for a Magellan GPSr, but it does not seem to apply to the 210.
Project a Waypoint in a Magellan GPS
----------------------------------------
From an NAV screen select a waypoint to project from
Select a category, then select a waypoint
When you have the waypoint page, press MENU and highlight "Projection", and press ENTER
Highlight the DISTANCE field and set the projected distance X
Highlight the BEARING field and set the projected distance Z
Highlight the word SAVE and press ENTER
You should now have a newly projected waypoint (usually prefixes the waypoint name with PRJ)
Now use the GOTO feature to go to the new projected waypoint just as you would any other waypoint
Any suggestions would be much appreciated. I am finding the Geocache owners love to have you do this.

I got Muggled yesterday in fact. here is my story:
There is a cache I have been meaning to get for some time in a local park. It is a high use playground. Everytime I drove by kids with their folks were all around. Yesterday, for the first time the park was empty. I parked and jumped at the chance to grab it. The cache was well hidden and it took a bit for me to find it. There was a problem: It was a magnetic container attached to the underside of a metal plate used to walk on. It was very close to ground. The last geocacher to find it was very zealous in putting it back and had put it WAY back. I had to lay on the ground and shove my arm WAY back to grab it. As I was in this awkward position I hear a little girl say, "What are you doing?" I about ripped my arm out of my socket. I had the cache in hand and dropped it. I had to think fast ...so I lied ...I told the girl that I had lost my pet snake and was looking for it. She got a "Interesting" expression on her face and left. I quickly grabbed the cache, signed the log, replaced it and got the heck out of dodge.
