  1. I'd be VERY interested...can't wait to see the artwork!
  2. I bought a nice pair at Junonia.com; lots of pockets (six plus a hidden money pocket), zip off legs, lightweight fabric. My friend (smaller than me) bought almost the same pair at REI. Good luck!
  3. You can also google "micro cache log" and get links to PDF files that will let you print your own. I print all my own logs...
  4. 1. Participating 2. Received Name 3. Mission Complete 4. Mission Arrived! I can't believe Easter is almost here already! Looking forward to a visit from the Big Bunny himself!
  5. This is a picture of one of the 3Doxies going for the cache...you can guess where it was hidden!
  6. I use Cachemate on my Q and the only complaint I have is that I can't seem to load the database on my sd card; the program seems to force me to have it loaded on the unit itself! As long as I maintain a small database it works fine; larger databases (4000+ caches) seem to slow it down quite a bit...
  7. One "must do" is Octopus Garden, GC70 (yes, that is GC70). This was the first cache placed in NC (placed 9/30/2000). It used to be a "moving" cache but now is a permanent cache. Some of my friends have done it and enjoyed it a lot. It's in Charlotte, NC, not far from where you will be visiting. As for the weather, it is pretty nice in the daytime and can get a little chilly at night (light jacket weather). For example, this past weekend it was 65 degrees and sunny. Tonight it will get down around 48 degrees. I have also seen it snow as late as May. We like to joke and say that we have all four seasons in NC, sometimes all in the same week! Not a ton of critters to watch out for, but be prepared for ticks and chiggers. I got a tick bite (yuck) just this past week and it was still February! Hope you have a great trip and get a big ol' dose of Southern Hospitality!
  8. 1. Participating - YES 2. Received Name - YES 3. Mission Complete- YES 4. Mission Arrived! This was a fun one! Hope they enjoy it!
  9. Amusing cache story: I was hunting a cache that was hidden in some bushes near a local Wal-Mart this past summer. I peeked into the bush and saw this small grey snake looking back at me perfectly still. I thought, "Oh, I've heard of these kinds of hides" and reached for it. It slithered away... Later on I hunted a cache about 200 miles from my home. It was a hide like you describe, except that it was hidden underneath a walkway slab. I almost peed my pants after the previous experience! Then I had a great laugh! Good luck with your cache!
  10. Whoooo whoooo! <Doing the cabbage patch dance...dog is looking at me like I'm crazy!> Thank you, thank you, thank you! []
  11. Oh, and the waypoint for that one is N 52° 40.730 E 006° 24.941
  12. I believe that would be Zuidwolde - Marius Tonckens, GC144MW Thanks for the cointest!
  13. I'm in! Hubby lost his job today; I've found that the best way to feel better is to do something to cheer someone else up! Gathering some warmth from here in the "Sunny South" to send someone's way!
  14. I met a lady at church and we struck up a friendship. We were having lunch one day and I asked her what kind of hobbies she had. She mentioned geocaching. "Huh? What's THAT?". Once she explained the concept to me I was intrigued. She took me out on hunts a couple of times over the next three months and before I knew it I was hooked!
  15. I've also seen some folks make their own by taking those 7 day pill reminder boxes (the rectangular ones), cutting the individual slots apart with an exacto knife, and painting them camo green. You can glue a magnet to the bottom for a micro container...
  16. Please, pretty please? I want to bookmark the site and calendar the date so I don't miss out on these beauties!
  17. I'd like to nominate a few folks! 1) The she-Doxie of 3Doxies. Mary is one of the most generous and kind people I know. Just this past weekend at an event I witnessed this firsthand when she found out that one of the kids there really loved their personal coin. First she made it a point to find him, meet him, and give him one of her coins and then she decided to trade it back for a gold LE coin. All this for someone she had never even met until that day and may never meet again! 2) Creacher. Just seeing Mark makes me grin. He really represents all this is right and good about this great sport...he helped me acquire my very first geocoin purchase and has been the 2nd hand recipient of many a PAF (I bet he's glad I don't have his number)! 3) Horsegeeks. Truly one of the good guys. 4) And last, but not least, Tennessee Jed. I don't know him personally, but I've seen his generosity displayed over and over again. Whenever I head someone bring him up in conversation it's always followed by nice things. That speaks volumes in and of itself! Thanks for the cointest!
  18. Whooo hoooo! Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a great way to end a weekend!
  19. Beautiful...hoping to get my hands on a set! ;D
  20. I'm fairly new to geocoins so I'm not that familiar with the various mintings on geojellies. How were these minted in the past? Did folks just reserve a "flavor" and then get their cache name on it? Does anyone know if there are plans to do a Geojellies 4? If so, I would love to get in on it!
  21. Would have to be a tie between these two (I'd be tickled to death if either one wins): GCW43X Justice League GCGDF1 Chinese Dragon We have a local cacher named Honeychile. She is well known in the area for the kind of caches that make you laugh and clap your hands like a little kid when you get to GZ. Most have some sort of story behind them and most have wonderful camo that she makes herself. Whenever I want a treat or just need a pick-me-up I hunt one of her caches. She has a number of hides, but I would have to say that these two were the most memorable for me personally and are on my all time favorites list. By the way, I have one of your coins in my personal collection and I like it too much to release into the wild so I'm really crossing my fingers and toes here so I can have one to keep and one to travel. Thanks for the cointest!
  22. E-mail sent for a 10 pack...if someone might be interested in trading one of these for a 2007 version please contact me via my profile.
  23. I'm in if you would like to release some in NC, TN, or VA.
