  1. :):) We can all rest a little easier now that we know Harmon is OK ;)

    Harmon-izers by Thom McAnn?

I thought these were marketed to fathers of teenage daughters and jealous spouses...

What, no cowboy boots? How y' gonna find me when I'm riding Happy?

A gentleman removes his boots before 'riding happy'

(bunched socks too, and a bath...would it kill you to take a bath?)

  2. For some of you out there that may care YODA is done and will be at HalfTracks event.

    I CARE!!

YODA? as in, "There is no try, only DO."

What about Chewwie and the Princess? I always liked them!

I'm feeling as tho I'm out of the loop here, tho  Is there going to be a special guest at halftrack guys event? :)

    Websters: To-YODA. aka Toyota

See also, tow-er of stuck Jeeps.

See also, $20,000 in parts bolted onto a $2000 truck. :)

  3. Congrats to Ritz Crackers for joining the Kilo Club!!!

Here's His Log On Phil's Memorial

I wasn't actually with him for the 1000th find, but I got to have lunch with him and the rest of the crew right afterwards.

CONGA RATS to SqrRIGGER on 600!!

  4. We grabbed one regular and one misprint for each kwvers!, The Lost Clan,

zeber, Boysnbarrie, Silver Horde, and ourselves!

Wait just a darned minute ... the rule was that Barrie has to pick up her own

card right after church while wearing a skirt and high heels, carrying a freshly

baked PUD cake, and jump the curb at Max's Park with a southbay school bus.

Back when I was a boy people played by the rules but now, no-o-o, some do-

gooder has to take all of the fun out of it.

;) HANG ON! I never jumped the curb ... that part was just wrong, you ol' geezer! Let's not forget that I AM a professional driver, and I can't let some far fetched WILD story tarnish my reputation!

That other stuff is all true tho :D .

I present irrefutable video evidence of Boysnbarrie and FlagMan jumping a curb to get rare Yrium Cards...

    Dear Triple Crown,

    Thanks for your support.

    Besides, what about this?

    Harmon

Sorry, Harmon, I think that was me!

Sue, I can see you have a problem with personal responsibility (i.e. you have some)

As any good politician knows, recovery is a 4 step process: Deny, deny, deny, make outrageous counter-accusations.

Hope that helps (and good luck in the election!):D:(

  6. If you have not heard yet, Chuy's Ginger passed away on Sunday afternoon.

Willow and I will miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.

We're all very sad to hear about Ginger! She was the best geocaching companion anyone could ask for. We'll really miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Chuy and his family.

  7. This just in ...

    Straight%20Six.jpg

Honk if you know where this is.

    Don't often see a straight-six nowadays.

:D Honk Honk..but the cache is missing!!!!! Man that was heavy!

Not missing at all, I scored a find just hours ago. Container had a layer

of grassy stuff over it as you can see in the photo poking out of cyclinder

No. six ... er, maybe cyclinder No. 1.

I was realy impressed that you were able to tote that engine-block

container so far out along a trail and up that hillside. As far as I'm

concerned you can start wearing a Super-Woman outfit.

    You-da-woman!

Note to Self: Next time mention the weed-stickers in my socks

Hey Jodi, would you mind bringing that the rest of the way to my car? (GC1WMM1)

It'll be a big improvement over the 4-banger that's in there now! :D

  8. Thank you all! It's been fun finding these!

Congrats to these other super-achievers too!

Snflwrmh - 500 finds and some nasty hides!

Ritz Crackers - 900 finds (1 day away from 1000?)

    Tiek00n - 1000

    Bitmap - 2000

    Chuck B - 3500

    FlagMan - 7500

:D See you on the trail!!! :)

    12000? Yippeeee...and what a great cache to pick :D:(

Good gravy, that pair just keep on tickin'. Where will it end?

12000 Finds! Now that's what I call making a BIG Splash!!! Congratulations!!!

  10. Hey Everybody Chuy! has logged over 9000 finds! Congrats Big Time!!

Wait a minute ... the dawgs deserve much of the credit.

So that would be 3,000 for Chuy! and 3,000 each for

    Ginger and Mocha.

Hey, what about Triple Crown... Isn't he one of the dawgs now? :D

I get to ride in the cab because I promised not to shed...also Mocha! won't let me ride in the bed.

Congrats Chuy!!! 9000 finds! (26 of them while the sun was still up!)

  11. More reports of a "bricked" unit, more lost maps, seems like the dirt on 2.99 is coming to the surface. I hope Garmin issues a fix before the long weekend. Come on 3.00!!

Looks like 3.01 is out and they addressed the shutdown, alarm, and settings saving issues. I think I'll hold at 2.98 until a few more folks have tested it.

So far, so good on 3.01 The unit starts up and shuts down correctly every time and so far I haven't had any problems loading GPX files from GSAK.

  12. I managed to buy the Oregon 300 at Dell for the $250 sale price, and the unit should arrive in the brown truck Wednesday. Other than updating with the latest beta release, what else should I get? here is my list of specifics:

    Windows XP

primary use is geocaching, mostly urban, maybe some short hiking.

I have a TomTom for driving directions

    live in Washington state

Travel to Oregon and British Columbia on occasion.

Have a 4gb micro SDHC card on the way

What do I need to download? What kind of maps, utilities and required programs should I get? Please include links to the specific sites, it will make things much easier on this newbie.

I highly recommend Garmin's City Navigator NT 2009 (DVD version so you can put it and your topos on the card you've ordered). It gives you all of the street maps for the US and Canada. For Topo maps checkout www.GPSfiledepot.com for lots of free downloads. There are also routable maps available free from http://garmin.na1400.info/routable.php (view with FireFox)

  13. hi, i have an oregon 300, while im geocaching on it once i have found one and i log it as found on the gps you can add a comment to it, when i have added a comment and then go onto the next cache, how do i later go back and see the comment i have writen on the gps?

I don't think you can view your comments on the unit. They are stored in a text file called geocache_visits.txt and AFAIK you can only view it on the computer or when you upload your field notes.
