  1. Stick a stamp in it, and you have yourself a Letterbox Hybrid!
  2. You found the first stage of a multi? Log a find when you've found the final! If you didn't go after the next stage for a particular reason, you might want to log a note, but even that isn't necessary.
  3. I've never had a problem with my Yahoo account.
  4. 15-20 feet isn't bad at all. 15-20 yards is a different matter Even if you took the time to average out your co-ords, they could still have 5 or 10 feet off (That's an error of 00.001 minutes in one or both the latitude and longitude). Take their slight error, and couple that with your GPS's error, and you end up with 10-20 feet of error (or more) quite easily.
  5. I leave leprechauns as me signature item...
  6. This is correct. I applaud your good judgement! Metric is the devil
  7. It's not being addicted. It's simply being committed to the game.
  8. I'm unclear as to how this will affect cachers who don't make a habit of spitting in public or smoking
  9. I'm still undecided as to which binthair was my favourite I do have a particular affection towards Through The Looking-Glass though.
  10. All three of mine require you go to the posted, follow a set of clues, and gather information along the way that you later use to project to the final. That point is a location that you've had to letterbox to.
  11. It's tied between 'Subway Cache' Rochester, NY and our very own 'Pizza Micro'
  12. I understand it perfectly well. I know that this was a solution to Letterboxers not wanting to list Letterboxes on gc.com. If it's going to be a different cache type, particularly one with the word 'Letterbox' in the name, it should contain elements of both, as well as a stamp. As per the guidelines, yes. Do I agree with that section of the guidelines, no, and as I've said before, that's the only section of the guidelines that I have a problem with. Either way, I plan on continuing to hide Letterbox Hybrids that meet my standards. Letterbox snob... I know - I'm not ashamed to admit it Meh - Putting the final at the posted co-ords is lame. I'd say the same thing about a Letterbox that didn't give clues, but rather a detailed description of exactly where it's hidden. As far as I'm concerned, there is a distinction between a Trad and a LBH that is more than the stamp.
  13. If only more people knew this... I wonder how many people have put a stamp in their trad, only to get the new icon... It's sad, really... As for the attribute - I'd probably put a stamp in every one of my non-micro hides if that was the option... For that matter, I've been thinking of doing that anyway! As for the search feature - Under the current 'Letterbox Hybrid' guidelines, there really is no way to search for Letterbox Hybrids anyway. All you can find are caches with the LBH Icon.
  14. Still... SoCal... Just the term itself... 'SoCal' **Shudders**
  15. Yes, that's correct. That's what a LBH should be, and it should be listed as a LBH, assuming of couse that it has a stamp. They could be. For that matter, you could list whatever you want as a Mystery/Unknown. If a cache like this (i.e. NOT a traditional) has a stamp in it, it is a Letterbox Hybrid. Simply going to the posted co-ords is not enough GPS usage. All of mine have a projection in them in order to satisfy that requirement. Lame. I make my own stamps, and I'll again issue my offer to carve a stamp for anyone who wants to put out a proper* Letterbox Hybrid Stamp or no stamp, it isn't really a Letterbox Hybrid. It just happens to meet the requirements of the only part of the guidelines that I really disagree with. If it has a stamp, then yes, yes it should be listed as a LBH. **Sigh** - At this point, I agree *For the purposes of this offer, I and I alone am the judge as to what constitutes a 'proper' Letterbox Hybrid.
  16. Letterboxing is a clue based activity. Basically, a true Letterbox hybrid should be much closer to a multi, if not a mystery/unknown. Unfortunately, the Groundspeak guidelines state that the the only required elements are GPS usage and a stamp. Letterstamp traditionals are horribly lame, but the lack of a stamp turns a lame excuse to get a new icon into a violation of the guidelines.
  17. I don't know, but the latest Über Genius firmware seems to have finally ironed out all of the opinion problems
  18. Milujem t'a Narcissa! This is why you find a spouse within the sport
  19. Seems that there might be a glitch in printing after the recent updates?? That glitch has been around for quite a bit longer than that. I've frequently had that same thing happen to me, where a whole section, including the co-ords, Difficulty and Terrain ratings, cache size, etc. are missing for no apparent reason
  20. Why wouldn't you help someone? Particularly your own brother!
  21. (For the record, Hull is right across the river from Ottawa)
  22. No. No you can't. Furthermore, once you get five DNFs, you're out of the game.
