  1. Not only do I keep a journal, I keep a scrapbook. I really gotta get a life! -BK :(

Thank goodness! I was about to think I was the only one scrapbooking my geocaching!

I keep a hard bound book/scrapbook of all our families finds and include info about the day, photos, stories, etc. It's a nice way for me to keep track of where we've been & done so we won't forget the fun little details.

  2. As a fairly new geocacher, I'm still running into different types of containers and sometimes have to really watch to make sure I've closed them up right. :P I am very careful however to make sure I've rehidden them as they were.

Is it possible the people finding these caches don't understand how to properly close? or the importance of making sure they are closed?

  3. As a parent, I don't mind what ratings are in the cache as long as they are not above NC-17. Obviously, if my kids are with me caching (and they don't cache alone) then I have control over what movie gets selected to take. My only concern would be opening the cache to see a bunch of naked women on a DVD for adults only.

That said, I think most geocachers would respect your wishes if you noted only a certain rating or movie type be left in the cache. I hope your cache works out well....wish there were some like this in my area! :P

  4. There are a couple of these in my area. The principle issue seems to be simply that there are very few trades made. Mostly people don't head out to geocache carrying a DVD. Movies don't disappear, the original contents are largely in place in the one nearest me, placed Feb 05.

Coming out of lurking to post :P !

You're right about most people not having a DVD with them when they cache. I wonder why more people don't do their homework before they go -- they'd figure out they needed a DVD and we all have ones we can part with.... I think it's a great idea- I'm surprised there aren't more like this.

  5. There are a ton of caches in my area hidden on walking trails. I'd love to go find some but I get hung up on where to park! I've found some that were close to a park but some neighborhoods tow when you don't have their sticker on your car (this is a big problem in my area). I'm worried my car will get towed or people will wonder why I'm parking in front of their house. If you don't live in the subdivision where the cache is hidden, where does everyone park?
