  1. I am really taking about when the cache goes missing. If I look for a cache and can't find it then we log it as a DNF. However there has been a couple of times where it has been obvious that the cache is no longer there e.g. one was supposed to be under a rock next to a post, the post and rock were there and there was a cache shaped hole under the rock. Now it's not our fault the cache has gone missing. Peter
  2. Just been looking through the rest of the daisyandme.com and I think Daisy might have a point on her page that caches generally don't contain stuff for dogs. Ok whilst not all caching teams have a dog, there are quite a few that do. Maybe we should include a few dog related items in caches. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.
  3. I've noticed that a few people are logging caches as 'found' but in their log they are saying that they got to the location, found where the cache was, but the cache is no longer there. No I wonder what people think about this. I know this shouldn't be a numbers game and all that, but I sympathise with people who get to the correct location but because someone has trashed the cache, then they can't log it as a find. When Mrs H and I were in the Lake District we have three in a row that the caches were missing. It wasn't our fault we couldn't log them as a find. We were at the right location. Perhaps GC.com should have another category. Not found as cache is missing. What do other people do, if they get to a site and the cache is obviously gone?? I'm glad that Henry is OK and still in the race. We have another tb in a Canadian race and after 6 weeks in still on the starting line because someone is still hanging on to her []. I know people do go caching but don't log onto gc.com. The guy who introduced us to this has done a couple of caches but never bothered to sign up to gc.com There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

  6. As many of you know there is a UK travel bug race going on at the moment. Our entry Henry Hedghog was placed in the Height of it Mk II (Lincolnshire) cache on 20th July. People have visited since saying the TB is not there. Well on 20th August he has turned up. The Famous Five grabbed him from the Good Ole Jack cache in Angelsey. Just wondering if anyone visits these two caches soon, can they check if there is any mention as to who took the bug from the Lincolnshire cache and who dropped him off in North Wales from the log books in the caches. This is just so can complete his log. Thanks There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

  12. Well I've mailed the person who has my travel bug (Hayley Hedgehog) a couple of times and no response. Doubt that I'll see her again. Will place her in the UK travel bug graveyard soon. Would love to say its been fun racing but when you don't even get off the starting line, it's very dissapointing. Good luck to all the other contestants and hope those still in it have a fun race. So what did you buy in the end, Peter? A super-duper mega-fantastic super-soaker. So you'd better watch out at the next geocache get together... 19. so do we have enough people to make this work? I guess the MINIMUM we need is two teams, so that's 6 cachers... There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

Oh, and who else would fill his car up with other nutters and go across to the IOW caching on the cheap!! Well with us when we took our second lot of geomuggles, he gave us an etrex... told us that the co-ords are programmed in.... well the WRONG co-ords were programmed in.... we were heading all over the place.... but what's wrong with the IOW... We went across on the cheap and gave omally the idea for his trip.. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.

  23. thinking about it. Unless you are planning to have this in November then we won't have time to do much caching, so won't be fair on the other team members but I (Mr H) want to do the web page for it. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.
  24. quote:If it takes off, we’ll probably need the help of someone with a website who would be willing to act as ‘controller’. Each Superteam would register there and e-mail the controller when a cache is found. The controller would check that each constituent team had logged the cache on cg.com and then update that Superteam’s total. The Superteams, team members and totals displayed on an accessible web page. Sounds like a bit of a laugh.. but I'm not sure if Mrs H and I have the time to do it. Will check with her tonight. If we haven't then I could always act as controller and set up a page on our website for this. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those that understand binary and those that don't.
