  1. Try a hard reset and pray If that doesn't work call Bombay
  2. Scratchers! Now why didn't I think of that? What a great idea and for only a buck. Thanks, lacomo. You've inspired me.
  3. That's not a bad deal from a bricks 'n mortar retailer. Especially one that has a pretty good rep as far as handling returns and exchanges even though it's not likely you would have to return a Garmin product. http://www.rei.com/product/735607?cm_re=lp*lp*garmin
  4. I've reduced down the bare essentials for hunting to what you see here in this ditty bag: It holds my trusty 60CSx, digital camera, notebook, pen and trade items/SWAG. If it's a P&G this is all I need. If the hunt entails a hike then obviously I carry a day pack with my 10 essentials.
  5. Does anyone know a good web site that discuss' charismatic Croatians?
  6. What about souvenir fingernail clippers, nail files small tools and swag letter openers?

  8. But what would you light the candle with? An unlit match? Why do you ask that? The question assumes you are using the one match to light one of three things.
  9. Have you tried Crystal Light as a mixer? It's the new Tang. Also, it comes in a few different flavors to suit your mood. I read some where that they have powdered wine. Here it is: Trekking Mahlzeiten? I'll bet powdered beer and wine are just as delicious as say, eggs.
  10. I'd light the candle first. From the candle I could light the wood stove. Maybe by granular he mean complexion. I didn't know that GC affected ones skin.
  11. Moonrise in Arches NP Delicate Arch The Gossips
  12. What about souvenir fingernail clippers or small tools?
  13. Yes, I saw that a Gcoin of this design does indeed exist. But the number on this is 00x. It must just be a trade piece. I'll just keep it.
  14. You leave a Little Lady as a sig item? That's cool.
  15. Does it have an available car charger, belt clip attachment and mapping software?
  16. all it has is a three digit number the first two of which are zero's
  17. OK, but that's the thing. I can't figure out who the owner is. It's an OK job. The paper is easily peeling off the poker chip. Besides, how do you log a find if you can't find an entry for it in the first place? When you go to CACHING AROUND AMERICA there's five pages of stuff but I don't see where you plug in the number that's on the coin.
  18. Like I said, I came across this in GC11YF9. It doesn't appear to be logged. It has a number on it. The number is suspiciously low. It's a poker chip covered on both sides with what you see here. I smudged out the number in the photo. I am new to the game but I'm a fairly clever fellow. I'm not complaining but the system seems kinda complicated when I try to search by the number on the Gcoin. Also, I don't see in the cache log that it was logged as left there.
  19. Thank you so much there, tsunrisebey. Maggie is 14 month old miniature aussie. Both parents are champions and 3 of 4 grandparents were too. The black tricolor markings gets people asking the same question. I guess most people are used to seeing the blue merle coloration. I was in the Mammoth Lakes area earlier this month an saw this real life working aussie out in the middle of nowhere. She was herding a flock of sheep across a highway. I didn't get her name because I can't speak Basque.
  20. Thanks for the concise explanation. It's registered and has been tracked so back into the world it goes.
  21. You know what? I never said I did and I still don't care either. Maybe you're a dinosaur from the past.
  22. Admin-don't know why the DP. Delete if you wish.
  23. Found my first geocoin. I just want to follow the rules of the game. Is it the same as a TB in that it's not really mine to keep? Am I charged with the responsibility of passing it on? TIA
  24. You're wrong. I can think of several. In fact that's how many of them earn myrepeat business. In this case I spent about $500 on a complete package. That was the XL unit, software and accessories. I had the thing 6 days and it took a dump on me. 6 days! Then after being jerked around by somebody in Bombay I was furious. Getting them to pay for shipping both ways didn't even begin to make things right. To me it was a matter of principle. The moral to this story is that terms, prices, service and effort are often negotiable. If you want to swallow everything somebody tells you go ahead. Not me. I would suggest that anyone who buys shoddy merchandise only to have the ownership experienced diminished by rotten customer service and support to do a return and get a refund. That's the only way we can get horrible companies to change of go out of business. That and word of mouth is powerful. Who are you to say I am wrong. I will put it you in simple terms. I have over 30 years experience in the retail industry doing every thing from shipping and receiving, sales , buying and owning a business. You do not know what companies I have done bussiness with an you do not know their policies on returns. I have worked with hundreds of companies of the years, For you information from the Garmin web site concerning warranties All Garmin products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Within this period, Garmin International, Inc. will, at its sole option, repair or replace any components which fail in normal use. Such repairs or replacement will be made at no charge to the customer for parts or labor, provided that the customer shall be responsible for any transportation cost. Who are you to ask me who am I when you asked who are you? (see? I can use scary text colors too) I don't care if you spent 30 years in retail and you're the love child of JC Penny, and Jeff Bezos. I'll put it to you in simpler terms. I have more years experience in front of the retail counter than you have behind it and just because you know how to copy and paste warranty information doesn't mean you know anything about service. I'll make my point another way: Warranties are printed words on paper. They aren't etched in stone. Is that simple enough for you? Have a nice life.
