Sometimes, people need to travel and are absent from home without having access to emails and without possibilities to go for a cache hunt. When returning back home, one gets flooded with gc emails. Wouldn't it be possible to create a "Suspend eMail Notifications" function in the user's profile settings, that allows to temporarily suspend sending - all eMails or individually - Notification emails (on published, archived etc caches) - Found/DNF/Note etc emails on owned caches and trackables - Pocket Queries ... I currently have 20 PQ running, distributed all over the week. When on vacation or on business travel, I don't need publish emails or PQs, and it is a hazzle to switch all off and back on again, re-create notifications etc. Anyone who supports this great idea ?

Hello *, I like reading old logs that I wrote some time ago. Is there any possibility to simply get all logs for all caches I've ever written via geocaching.com? Just the name of the cache, maybe the GC-code, date and my log text. Having this prepared on a nice webpage or generated as a pdf would be great. Even better would be to implement uploaded log images. Something like "Generate diary" Alternatively, does a macro exist for GSAK doing that? Thanks, Gernot

I would appreciate this as well. I am loading the PQs into GSAK via the API, therefore, the emails with attachments are deleted immediately and I just see those emails as a notification service. Since gpx files of PQs with more than 500 caches are not attached to an email anyway, it seems to be possible

Found and not yet found caches will be visible on the map until you change the gpx file(s) the cache information is contained in. I can live with this - I load new gpx files regularly that are delivered via Pocket Query (a Premium Member only feature), and within the setting for the PQ, I define that I want to have my own and my found chaches excluded. I experienced a bug while accessing geocoded images on the Montana 600: In my device: Image viewer - menu - sort --> crash (need to restart Montana manually) Other peoples device: Image viewer - menu - sort - find nearby - back --> crash Some people mentioned that it would work on the Montana 650 when using Camera profile.

Ich lade mir die OSM von hier: http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ Da kann man je nach Bedarf sehr schnell auf Regionen einschränken und bekommt per Downloadpaket eine Version mit Mapsource-Installer und fertigem img direkt für die Nutzung auf dem Garmin. Viele Grüße, Gernot

Das glaub ich ganz sicher nicht. Vor einiger Zeit gab es bei der deutschen Reviewer Seite eine Statistik über die Warteschlange - da waren durchaus mal 400 Caches auf der Warteliste. Sprich: bei ca. 20 Reviewern in Deutschland, die das ja nicht hauptberuflich machen, kann das schon mal dauern. Und insgesamt gilt halt immer die zeitliche Reihenfolge getreu dem Prinzip FiFo (First In, First Out). Hab Geduld, da passiert schon noch was

Im städtischen Bereich fallen Hinweise per QR Codes erheblich weniger auf als irgendwelche Klartextzettel, die irgendwo kleben. Edit: Sorry, hab überlesen, daß es hier um QR Codes in den Listings geht. In Listings ist es allenfalls eine kleine zusätzliche Hürde, mehr nicht.

Hi all, with the new maps, another kind of overlay popup was included when clicking on a cache icon. I usually open caches (or the link for bookmarking or logging) from within this popup in a new tab by STRG+left mouse button. This does not work anymore, but right click and "open in new tab" from within the context menu does. On other areas within gc.com, the navigation still works with STRG+left mouse. Can please someone check and make the links within this popup work as normal links again? Thanks, Gernot

Dann hast Du alles richtig gemacht und es dauert halt noch ein wenig. Er wird sicher bald veröffentlicht, sofern nicht irgendwo noch etwas nachgebessert werden muß. Nur Geduld hilft!

Du kannst sehr bald und schnell einen Cache legen, der dann jedoch keine aufwändig gestaltete Beschreibung hat, sondern nur Text und ein Bild im Anhang. Alles andere braucht halt ein wenig mehr Wissen im Bereich HTML/CSS, da kommst Du nicht drumrum. Alternativ kannst Du mal nach einem kostenlosen WYSIWYG-HTML-Editor schauen, der Dir einiges an Arbeit abnehmen kann. Kurze Recherche ergab z.B. http://www.openbexi.com/ oder http://ckeditor.com/ (beide jedoch auf englisch) Da ich beruflich schon seit den Anfängen des Internet mit dem Zeug zu tun habe, finde ich es nicht wirklich kompliziert. Ohne entsprechnde Vorbelastung mag das ganz anders aussehen. Viel Erfolg!

Du musst selber HTML erstellen können, um das entsprechend sinnvoll zu nutzen. Ansonsten bringt es Dir nichts. Anfangen kannst Du hier: selfhtml Du kannst die Bilder als Anhang bei gc.com hochladen, dann die URL des Bildes ausfindig machen (i.a. über rechte Maustaste - Bild-URL kopieren) und in der Beschreibung (im HMTL-Format) das img-Tag mit der entsprechenden URL des Bildes einfügen. Ich lade die Bilder immer auf meine eigene Homepage und binde dann diese im HTML-img-Tag ein. Wie das geht steht hier: Bilder einbinden Viel Erfolg!

Ja. Manchmal auch länger, je nach Neu-Cache-Aufkommen und Reviewer-Verfügbarkeit. Und es kommt darauf an, wie sorgfältig Du Dein Listing vorbeitet hast. Wenn auf Anhieb alles paßt, geht es gemeinhin recht schnell. Wenn es Unklarheiten gibt, kommen Rückfragen, deren Antworten wieder in einer Warteschlange landen, mit entsprechender Wartezeit bis zur Abarbeitung. Viel Spaß!
